Tutkimus pyrkii my\u00f6s selvitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n kuinka kielitaidon tarpeet ty\u00f6teht\u00e4viss\u00e4, sek\u00e4 ty\u00f6ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6ss\u00e4 vaikuttavat ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden ammatillisen identiteetin muodostumiseen, sek\u00e4 kokemukseen ty\u00f6yhteis\u00f6\u00f6n kuulumisesta. Tutkimus on tehty yhteisty\u00f6ss\u00e4 yrityksen kanssa, ja t\u00e4h\u00e4n liittyen on my\u00f6s toteutettu Kandidaatin tutkielma (Hiekkavirta 2017), jossa tarkasteltiin l\u00e4hemmin yrityksen kielivarannon tarpeen eri lajeja ja kielikoulutustarpeita.\n\nTutkimusaineistoa l\u00e4hestyt\u00e4\u00e4n sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysin keinoin. Tutkimusaineisto on ker\u00e4tty k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en kahta eri metodia. Ensimm\u00e4inen osa aineistoa on haastattelu, joka on toteutettu yrityksen johtotiimin kanssa. Haastattelun tavoitteena on saada tietoa siit\u00e4, miten yrityksen johto n\u00e4kee yrityksen kielivarannon tarpeet ja sen vaikutukset. Toinen osa aineistosta on ker\u00e4tty koko yrityksen henkil\u00f6st\u00f6lt\u00e4 kyselytutkimuksen avulla. Kyselytutkimuksen tavoitteena on ollut saada tietoa henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n kokemuksista kielivarantoon ja sen vaikutuksiin liittyen. \n\nTulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 odotukset kielivarannon suhteen ovat edelleen hyvin selke\u00e4sti jaottuneet niin, ett\u00e4 toimistoty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6ille kielivaranto koetaan olevan edellytys ty\u00f6n tekemiselle, ja tuotannon ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden kielivaranto koetaan olevan vain hyv\u00e4 lis\u00e4. T\u00e4t\u00e4 eroa perustellaan ty\u00f6teht\u00e4viin liittyvill\u00e4 tarpeilla, mutta samalla huomioidaan, ett\u00e4 my\u00f6s toimistossa on ty\u00f6teht\u00e4vi\u00e4, joissa kielivaranto ei ole oleellinen. Kielikoulutusta tarjotaan ty\u00f6teht\u00e4viin perustuvasti, kuitenkin toimiston ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6ille rajattomasti. Tuotannon ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4t perustelevat omaa k\u00e4sityst\u00e4ns\u00e4 oman kielivarannon tarpeettomuudesta osittain my\u00f6s kielikoulutuksen puutteella; jos heille mahdollisuutta ei tarjota, ei se varmaan ole t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 \u2013ajatuksella.
