Tarkoituksena on analysoida, millaisia arvoja ja attribuutteja luomuruoan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4ll\u00e4 liittyy luomun suosimiseen ja k\u00e4ytt\u00f6motiiveihin. Pyrkimyksen\u00e4 on selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, miten k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4t kokevat hy\u00f6tyv\u00e4ns\u00e4 suosimalla luomua. Tutkimuksessa analysoidaan my\u00f6s mahdollisten ideologisten painotusten olemassaoloa liittyen luomuruoan suosimiseen. Tutkimuksen n\u00e4k\u00f6kulma on kulutussosiologinen. Tutkimus on toteutettu kvalitatiivista tutkimusotetta k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en, ja analyysimenetelm\u00e4n\u00e4 toimii aineistol\u00e4ht\u00f6inen sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysi. Tutkimuksen aineiston muodostaa Facebookin kaksi erilaista luomuryhm\u00e4\u00e4, joista ensimm\u00e4inen on suomalainen ja toinen amerikkalainen luomuryhm\u00e4. Tutkielman teoreettinen viitekehys muodostuu kulutussosiologisesta ja postmodernin ravintopolitiikan m\u00e4\u00e4ritt\u00e4m\u00e4st\u00e4 kulutusidentiteetin k\u00e4sitteest\u00e4\nsek\u00e4 Pierre Bourdieun yhteiskuntaluokkateoriasta.\nTutkimuksen tulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 luomun terveydellisiin, eettisiin ja ekologisiin sek\u00e4 kulinaristisiin kulutusmotiiveihin liittyv\u00e4t arvot ja attribuutit esiintyiv\u00e4t aineistossa monissa\neri muodoissa. Terveydelliset motiivit olivat kytk\u00f6ksiss\u00e4 ruoan myrkytt\u00f6myyteen, GMO-vapauteen, luomun luonnollisuuteen ja luomutuotannolliseen taustaan, lasten ja nuorten hyvinvointiin, luomun terveellisyyteen ja vaihtoehtoisuuteen roskaruokaan n\u00e4hden, ravitsemuksellisuuteen ja terveysongelmien ehk\u00e4isyyn luomun nauttimisen kautta. Eettiset ja ekologiset motiivit liittyiv\u00e4t el\u00e4inten ja ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n hyvinvoinnin arvostamiseen, suuryritysten boikotointiin ja GMO-vapauteen, poliittisiin motiiveihin ja GMO-vapauteen,luomutuotteen luotettavuuteen sek\u00e4 ep\u00e4eettiseksi- ja ep\u00e4ekologiseksi mielletyn tuotteen ja tuotantotavan boikotointiin. Kulinaristisiin motiiveihin liittyi luomun hinta-laatu suhde ja\nluomun maku. Kuluttajat kokivat hy\u00f6tyv\u00e4ns\u00e4 luomusta kulutusmotiiviensa kautta. Luomu on monelle luomun k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4lle my\u00f6s ideologinen valinta. Tutkielman tuloksista voidaan p\u00e4\u00e4tell\u00e4, ett\u00e4 postmodernissa yhteiskunnassa el\u00e4v\u00e4 ja luomua\nsuosiva kuluttaja m\u00e4\u00e4rittyy LOHAS-kuluttajaksi.
