Experiences of students\u2019 participation and communality are also emphasized values in building the functions of community and in increasing wellbeing.\nThe main purpose of the study was to find out what kind of experiences students in the eighth grade have had in their possibilities in influencing physical education. We also wanted to know how students would describe a physical education class of their dreams. The study examines students\u2019 opinions about participation.\nThe study was executed as a qualitative study and we collected the data by the open questionnaire. The qualitative data consisted of 40 eighth-grade students\u2019 answers. The data was analyzed by using data-based content analysis. According to the study students have had most experiences of participation in the class in their choices of team and sport. Students felt that working together and the sense of community are meaningful in physical education. Students wanted to exercise in the way they would experience joy in physical education class of their dreams. Students also wanted to play games together as much as possible in the way that everybody is equally active.\nWe also examined how the physical education classes would change if students were allowed to make more decisions in them. According to our study, most of the students felt physical education classes would be more fun if students could have more influence and make more decisions. Some students felt that decision-making would not necessarily be a good thing. These students felt that if students made most of the decisions in physical education classes, it would increase conflicts among students and there would be less variety in and between classes.\nAccording to our study teachers should take students\u2019 opinions into consideration in planning. T\u00e4rke\u00e4n\u00e4 arvona korostetaan my\u00f6s oppilaan kokemusta osallisuudesta ja yhdess\u00e4 tekemisen kautta yhteis\u00f6ns\u00e4 toiminnan ja hyvinvoinnin rakentamisesta.\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 yl\u00e4koulun 8-luokkalaisten kokemia vaikutusmahdollisuuksia koululiikunnassa. Selvitimme my\u00f6s millainen olisi oppilaiden unelmien liikuntatunti. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kuulla oppilaita ja selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 heid\u00e4n mielipiteit\u00e4\u00e4n osallisuudesta liikuntatunnilla.\nTutkimus toteutettiin laadullisena tutkimuksena ja tutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin avoimen kyselylomakkeen avulla. Tutkimusjoukkomme koostui kahdesta 8-luokkalaisten ryhm\u00e4st\u00e4. Tutkimusaineisto koostui 40 oppilaan vastauksista. Aineisto analysoitiin aineistol\u00e4ht\u00f6isen sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysin avulla. Tutkimuksemme tuloksista selvisi, ett\u00e4 oppilaat kokivat eniten vaikutusmahdollisuuksia laji -ja joukkuevalinnoissa. Oppilaat kokivat yhdess\u00e4 tekemisen ja yhteis\u00f6llisyyden merkitykselliseksi asiaksi koulun liikuntatunneilla. Unelmien liikuntatunnilla oppilaat liikkuisivat itselleen mieluisalla tavalla. Oppilaat toivoivat p\u00e4\u00e4sev\u00e4ns\u00e4 pelaamaan mahdollisimman paljon yhdess\u00e4 ja sit\u00e4 ett\u00e4 kaikki oppilaat osallistuisivat aktiivisesti liikuntatuntiin. \nSelvitimme my\u00f6s oppilaiden mielipiteit\u00e4 siit\u00e4, mink\u00e4laisia liikuntatunneista tulisi, jos oppilaat saisivat p\u00e4\u00e4tt\u00e4\u00e4 mit\u00e4 liikuntatunneilla tehd\u00e4\u00e4n. Tutkimuksemme mukaan suurin osa oppilaista oli sit\u00e4 mielt\u00e4, ett\u00e4 liikuntatunneista tulisi mukavampia, kun he p\u00e4\u00e4sisiv\u00e4t vaikuttaa tuntien sis\u00e4lt\u00f6ihin. Osa oppilaista ei halunnut vaikuttaa tunteihin.
