Därtill undersöktes hur pulspass fungerar i skolvardagen samt eventuella utvecklingsförslag för framtida pulsprojekt. Pulsprojekt är ett försök, av många, att öka elevernas fysiska aktivitet under skoldagen. Denna kvalitativa undersökning genomfördes med intervjuer och praktiska observationer. Observation av pulspass utfördes två gånger under vårterminen 2017 och iakttagelserna skrevs ner i dagboksform. För insamlingen av elevers och lärarens upplevelser använde jag mig av en halvstrukturerad intervju, enskilt med varje respondent. Sammanlagt sex elever med varierat intresse för fysisk aktivitet (tre flickor och tre pojkar), en klasslärare och rektor intervjuades under våren 2017. Därefter transkriberades intervjuerna och materialet analyserades med hjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Eleverna i undersökningen upplevde pulspass som ett positivt inslag under skoldagen, oberoende av tidigare idrottsintresse. Eleverna upplevde att pulspass förbättrar konditionen och den sociala gemenskapen i klassen. Eleverna, läraren och rektorn kunde inte uttrycka sig om pulspass har inverkat på skolframgången eller inte, eftersom det är så många olika variabler som inverkar på inlärningen och skolprestationen. Läraren upplevde pulspass som en utmärkt möjlighet att ge positiv respons, för något som har med fysisk aktivitet att göra, åt de elever som annars inte är så värst intresserade av idrott. De främsta negativa upplevelserna av pulspass som framkom i elevintervjuerna var, att man bör byta om och att man blir svettig. Läraren blir tvungen att ta tid från andra ämnen för att ordna ett pulspass, vilket får läraren att värdera den förlorade lektionstiden i förhållande till värdet av ett pulspass. Skolans utmaning är att minska stillasittandet och öka den fysiska aktiviteten för eleverna. Pulsprojekt, Gymnastiklektioner med fokus på rörelse, raster som spenderas utomhus, pausgymnastik och funktionell undervisning, idrottsklubbar och en fysisk aktiv skolväg är några exempel på hur skolan kan erbjuda eleverna fysisk aktivitet. De flesta elever upplever ökad fysisk aktivitet som något roligt och motiverande. The aim for my Master´s thesis in sports pedagogy was to describe the students´ and teachers´ experiences of increased physical activities, so called high pulse exercises, in Sursik school, Ostrobothnia. One of the aims was to investigate if high pulse exercises is experienced increase the students ability to concentrate and how it affects the success in school among the students. It was also investigated how high pulse exercises works in practice during school days and development ideas for future high pulse projects. High pulse project is one way out of many to increase the physical exercises during the school days. This qualitative research was conducted by interviews and practical observations. Observation of high pulse exercises was conducted two times during the spring semester 2017 and the findings were written down in a diary. An individual semi-structured interview was used among the respondents during the collection of the students´ and teachers’ experiences. Totally six students with various interests for physical activities (3 boys and 3 girls), one teacher and the principal teacher were interviewed during spring 2017. After that the interviews was transcribed and the material was analysed with a qualitative content analysis. The students in the research experienced high pulse exercises as a positive element during the school day, independently their previous interest for sports. The students felt that high pulse exercises increased the condition as well as the social community in the school class. Nor the students, the teacher or the principal teacher could verify if high pulse exercises have increased success in the studies or not, because there are so many variables that affects the learnings and the performance in school. The teacher experienced that high pulse exercises was a good way in giving positive response about the physical activities for those who are not so interested in sports. The negative aspects about the experiences in high pulse exercises among the students were that they had to change clothes and that they started to sweat. The teacher also has to decrease time for other subjects in school in order to arrange a high pulse exercise, which the teacher can value and compare the lost time in other subjects in proportion to the value of a high pulse exercise. The challenge for the school is to decrease the sedentary and to increase the physical activity among the students. High pulse project, physical training focusing on movement, spending breaks outside, break exercises and functional education, sport organisations and a physical route to school are examples of different physical activities that the schools can offer. The most of the students experience increased physical activities as something fun and motivating.
