Tunne- ja vuorovaikutustaidot ovat keskeisi\u00e4 kieltenoppimisessa ja \u2013opettamisessa sill\u00e4 nimenomaan kielen avulla kommunikoidaan ja ollaan vuorovaikutuksessa muiden ihmisten kanssa. \r\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 viidesluokkalaisten tunne- ja vuorovaikutustaitoja englanninopetuksen yhteydess\u00e4. Tutkija-opettaja j\u00e4rjesti opetuskokeilun keski-suomalaisessa alakoulussa, jossa tutkija toimi my\u00f6s sijaisena. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli tutkia ja soveltaa teht\u00e4vi\u00e4 joiden avulla voidaan kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 oppilaiden tunne- ja vuorovaikutustaitoja englanninkielen taitojen rinnalla ja havainnoida kuinka kyseiset teht\u00e4v\u00e4t toimivat k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6ss\u00e4. Tutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin opetuskokeilun aikana havainnoimalla, \u00e4\u00e4nitt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 ja videoimalla oppitunteja. \r\nCASEL, the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning, edist\u00e4\u00e4 lasten tunne- ja vuorovaikutustaitojen kehitt\u00e4mist\u00e4 sek\u00e4 koulumenestyst\u00e4 tavoitteenaan kyseisten taitojen j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4llinen opetus esikoulusta lukioon. Yhdistys jakaa tunne- ja vuorovaikutustaidot viiteen ydin kykyyn: itsetietoisuus, itsens\u00e4 hallitseminen, sosiaalinen tietoisuus, ihmissuhdetaidot ja vastuullinen p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksenteko. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tutkimusaineisto jaettiin viiteen eri kategoriaan n\u00e4iden ydin kykjen mukaan. Ne loivat perustan koko tutkimukselle.\r\nPositiivisen psykologian kasvu tieteenalaksi on tuonut mukanaan hyvinvointin\u00e4k\u00f6kulman my\u00f6s kieltenopiskeluun. Kielest\u00e4 nauttimisesta kirjoitetaan yh\u00e4 enenev\u00e4ss\u00e4 m\u00e4\u00e4rin. Sen yhteydess\u00e4 painotetaan my\u00f6nteisten tunteiden merkityst\u00e4 erityisesti liikkeelle panevana voimana. Positiivinen psykologia ja sen pedagogiset teht\u00e4v\u00e4t antavat kieltenopiskelijoille mahdollisuuden oppia kieli\u00e4 positiivisesti sek\u00e4 edist\u00e4v\u00e4t positiivista el\u00e4m\u00e4nasennetta.\r\nTutkimuksen tulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 oppilaat pystyiv\u00e4t tunnistamaan ja nime\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n tunteitaan; halusivat osallistua; uskalsivat n\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 sek\u00e4 positiivisia ett\u00e4 negatiivisia tunteita; kuuntelivat toisiaan; ja osasivat sek\u00e4 pyyt\u00e4\u00e4 ett\u00e4 tarjota apua. Tutkimuksen esimerkit osoittavat, ett\u00e4 oppilaat kykeniv\u00e4t k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n kaikkia viitt\u00e4 CASEL:in m\u00e4\u00e4ritt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4 ydin kyky\u00e4. Voidaan siis todeta, ett\u00e4 tunne- ja vuorovaikutustaitoja on mahdollista kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 englanninopetuksen yhteydess\u00e4.
