Tosin aikaisempien tutkimusten mukaan suoratoistosis\u00e4ll\u00f6ist\u00e4 maksaneiden osuus on ollut Suomessa pohjoismaiden pienin. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkielman tavoite oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, kuinka paljon nuoret suomalaiset aikuiset ovat valmiita maksamaan suoratoistopalvelujen k\u00e4yt\u00f6st\u00e4, kuinka halukkaita he ovat k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n maksullisia suoratoistopalveluja ja mitk\u00e4 tekij\u00e4t vaikuttavat maksullisten suoratoistopalvelujen omaksumiseen. Tutkimus toteutettiin kirjallisuuskatsauksena ja strukturoituna kyselytutkimuksena. Tutkimuksen aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin touko-kes\u00e4kuun vaihteessa vuonna 2016 strukturoituna verkkokyselyn\u00e4, johon kertyi yhteens\u00e4 1061 vastausta. Aineiston analysoinnissa hy\u00f6dynnettiin keskiarvon testaamiseen soveltuvia menetelmi\u00e4 sek\u00e4 eksploratiivista faktorianalyysia. T\u00e4m\u00e4n j\u00e4lkeen aineistosta tehtiin mittausmallit ja lopuksi mittausmallit siirrettiin rakenneyht\u00e4l\u00f6mallien muotoon, joilla testattiin tutkimukselle asetettujen hypoteesien toimivuutta. Empiirisen tutkimuksen tulokset esitt\u00e4v\u00e4t nuorten aikuisten (25-34-vuotiaat) olevan ik\u00e4ryhmist\u00e4 maksuhalukkaimpia musiikin\u2013 sek\u00e4 elokuvien ja TV-sarjojen suoratoistopalveluja kohtaan. Sen sijaan nuoret (15-24-vuotiaat) ovat valmiita maksamaan keskim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4ist\u00e4 v\u00e4hemm\u00e4n suoratoistopalvelujen k\u00e4yt\u00f6st\u00e4. Tuloksien mukaan 80 prosenttia vastaajista olisi valmiita maksamaan yhdest\u00e4 musiikin suoratoistopalvelusta keskim\u00e4\u00e4rin 6,03 euroa kuukaudessa ja 83,8 prosenttia vastaajista olisi valmiita maksamaan yhdest\u00e4 elokuvien ja TV-sarjojen suoratoistopalvelusta keskim\u00e4\u00e4rin 7,64 euroa kuukaudessa. Korkea maksuhalukkuus ei korreloinut todellisen maksamisen kanssa ja merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4 osa (61,9 %) musiikin suoratoistopalvelun k\u00e4ytt\u00e4jist\u00e4 ei maksanut suoratoistopalvelujen k\u00e4yt\u00f6st\u00e4. Noin puolet (51,7 %) vastaajista kertoi, etteiv\u00e4t maksa elokuvien ja TV-sarjojen suoratoistopalvelusta mit\u00e4\u00e4n tai eiv\u00e4t k\u00e4yt\u00e4 palveluita laisinkaan. Empiirisen tutkimuksen viitekehyksen tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 suoratoistopalvelun matalalla hinnalla ja koetulla hy\u00f6dyllisyydell\u00e4 on voimakas ja eritt\u00e4in merkitsev\u00e4 vaikutus suoratoistopalvelun k\u00e4ytt\u00f6aikomukseen. Lis\u00e4ksi suoratoistopalvelun helppok\u00e4ytt\u00f6isyyden havaittiin vaikuttavan v\u00e4h\u00e4isesti suoratoistopalvelun k\u00e4ytt\u00f6aikomukseen. Kehitetyss\u00e4 mallissa suoratoistopalvelun hinnan ja suoratoistopalvelun k\u00e4ytt\u00f6aikeen v\u00e4linen suhde oli kaikista voimakkain ja tilastollisesti eritt\u00e4in merkitsev\u00e4. However, according to previous surveys, the number of people who have paid for streaming services in Finland is the smallest in the Nordic countries. The goal of this thesis was to find out how much young Finnish adults are willing to spend on streaming services, how willing they are to use paid streaming services, and what factors influence in the adoption of paid streaming services. The study was conducted as a literary review and as a structured online survey. The research data was collected in end of May to the beginning of June 2016 with a structured online survey, which amounted to a total of 1,061 responses. The analysis of the data utilized methods suitable for testing the averages and the explorative factor analyzes. Subsequently, measurements were created from the data and finally, the measurement models were moved to the form of structural equations to test the functionality of the hypotheses set for the research. The results of the empirical study show that young adults (aged 25-34) are among the age groups with the highest willingness to pay for music streaming services and movie streaming services. By contrast, young people (15-24 years old) are willing to pay less than the average for streaming services. According to the results, 80 percent of respondents would be willing to pay an average of 6,03 euros per month for one music streaming service and 83,8 percent of respondents would be willing to pay an average of 7.64 euros per month for one movie streaming service. A high willingness to pay does not correlate with the actual payments, and a significant proportion (61,9%) of music stream users did not pay for streaming services. About half (51,7%) of the respondents reported that they did not pay for the streaming video services or do not use services at all. The results of the empirical research framework showed that the low cost and proven utility of the streaming service has a strong and very significant effect on the intention to use the streaming service. In addition, the ease-of-use of the streaming service was found to have little effect on the intention to use the streaming service. In the developed model, the ratio between the price of the streaming service and the streaming service usage rate was the most powerful and statistically very significant.
