Vuonna 2015 mets\u00e4styskortin lunasti 306 277 henkil\u00f6\u00e4. Mets\u00e4styksen koettuja hyvinvointivaikutuksia on kuitenkin tutkittu hyvin v\u00e4h\u00e4n. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 mets\u00e4styst\u00e4 harrastavien terveytt\u00e4, mielenhyvinvointia ja el\u00e4m\u00e4nlaatua. \r\n \r\nTutkimuksen aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin internet-kyselylomakkeella, joka toimitettiin kes\u00e4kuussa 2017 kaikkiin Suomen riistanhoitoyhdistyksiin jaettavaksi j\u00e4senille. Kyselyyn vastasi 1817 henkil\u00f6\u00e4. Tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin SPSS for Windows 23.00 -ohjelmalla. Aineiston analysointimenetelmin\u00e4 olivat ristiintaulukointi, khiin neli\u00f6testi, Pearsonin korrelaatiokerroin sek\u00e4 T-testi. \r\n \r\nKolme nelj\u00e4sosaa tutkimukseen vastanneista k\u00e4ytti mets\u00e4stykseen aikaa yli 10 p\u00e4iv\u00e4\u00e4 vuodessa (8 tunnin p\u00e4ivin\u00e4 mitattuna). Mets\u00e4stykseen k\u00e4ytetty keskim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4inen aika oli 29 p\u00e4iv\u00e4\u00e4. Puolet vastaajista ilmoitti mets\u00e4st\u00e4v\u00e4ns\u00e4 seurassa tai seurueessa. Vastaajista reilu kolmannes ilmoitti sairastavansa jotakin l\u00e4\u00e4k\u00e4rin toteamaa sairautta. Yleisin l\u00e4\u00e4k\u00e4rin toteama sairaus oli kohonnut verenpaine tai verenpainetauti. Puolet tutkimukseen vastanneista oli ylipainoisia. Noin puolet vastaajista koki terveydentilansa hyv\u00e4ksi. Positiivisen mielenterveyden mittarin vastauksista voitiin todeta vastaajien mielenhyvinvoinnin olevan vahvaa. Kaksi kolmasosaa tutkimukseen vastanneista koki el\u00e4m\u00e4nlaatunsa hyv\u00e4ksi ja kolmasosa eritt\u00e4in hyv\u00e4ksi. Mets\u00e4stysaktiivisuus ei ollut yhteydess\u00e4 koettuun terveyteen, mielenhyvinvointiin ja el\u00e4m\u00e4nlaatuun. T\u00e4rkeimpin\u00e4 mets\u00e4styksen hyvinvointivaikutuksina koettiin: mets\u00e4styksen kohentavan mielialaa, lis\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4n tyytyv\u00e4isyytt\u00e4 el\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n ja tarjoavan sosiaalisia suhteita. Yleisimm\u00e4t mets\u00e4stysharrastusta v\u00e4hent\u00e4v\u00e4t tekij\u00e4t olivat v\u00e4hentynyt vapaa-aika ja yleisin petotilanne. Yli puolet tutkimukseen vastanneista omisti mets\u00e4styskoiran. Vastaajat kokivat, ett\u00e4 mets\u00e4styskoiran omistaminen lis\u00e4si fyysist\u00e4 aktiivisuutta. \r\n \r\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkielman johtop\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksen\u00e4 voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 mets\u00e4st\u00e4j\u00e4t kokevat mets\u00e4stysharrastuksen tarjoavan fyysisi\u00e4, psyykkisi\u00e4 ja sosiaalisia hyvinvointivaikutuksia. A Master`s thesis of Health Education, 49 p., 2 appendices. \r\n \r\nHunting is one of the traditional Finnish hobbies. In 2015, the hunting card was redeemed by 306 277 people. However, the observed welfare effects of hunting have been studied very little. The purpose of the study was to find out the health, the well-being and quality of life of hunters. \r\n \r\nThree-quarters of those surveyed used hunt for more than 10 days a year (measured in 8 hours). The average time spent in hunting was 29 days. Half of the respondents reported hunting in the company or party. About a third of respondents reported having a medical condition diagnosed. The most common medical diagnosis was elevated blood pressure or hypertension. Half of those surveyed were overweight. About half of the respondents felt that their health was good. Positive mental health indicators showed that respondents' well-being was strong. Two-thirds of respondents felt that their quality of life was good and that a third was very good. Hunting activity was not related to the perceived health, well-being and quality of life. The most important hunting effects of the hunting were: hunting to improve mood, increase satisfaction with life and provide social relationships. The most common factors affecting hunting hunting were reduced leisure time and the most common deprivation situation. More than half of those surveyed owned a hunting dog. Respondents felt that ownership of a hunting dog increased physical activity. \r\n \r\nAs a conclusion of this thesis, it can be said that hunters experience the physical, psychological and social well-being effects of hunting hunting.
