Tarvitaan lis\u00e4\u00e4 tietoa apuv\u00e4lineiden, teknologian ja et\u00e4teknologian k\u00e4yt\u00f6st\u00e4 fysioterapiassa, niiden yhteydest\u00e4 fysioterapian ydinosaamiseen sek\u00e4 siit\u00e4, mitk\u00e4 tekij\u00e4t vaikuttavat niiden k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n fysioterapiassa. T\u00e4m\u00e4n pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, miten suomalaisten fysioterapeuttien yksil\u00f6lliset ja ty\u00f6h\u00f6n liittyv\u00e4t taustatekij\u00e4t vaikuttavat apuv\u00e4lineiden, terveys- ja hyvinvointiteknologian sek\u00e4 et\u00e4teknologian k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n fysioterapian ydinosaamisalueilla. Lis\u00e4ksi ty\u00f6n tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, miten suomalaiset fysioterapeutit n\u00e4kev\u00e4t apuv\u00e4lineet, teknologian ja et\u00e4teknologian osana tulevaisuuden fysioterapiaa ja fysioterapiakoulutusta. \r\n\r\nTutkimuksen aineistona k\u00e4ytettiin Fysioterapeuttien ydinosaaminen -kyselytutkimusaineiston osaa, joka sis\u00e4lt\u00e4\u00e4 1909 fysioterapeutin vastaukset fysioterapeutin taustatietoihin, ty\u00f6yhteis\u00f6\u00f6n ja fysioterapian tulevaisuuteen liittyviin kysymyksiin sek\u00e4 fysioterapian asiantuntijuuteen kohdistuviin v\u00e4itt\u00e4miin. Aineistoa tutkittiin ristiintaulukoinnilla, Pearsonin <i>\uab53</i>\u00b2-testill\u00e4, T-testill\u00e4 ja yksisuuntaisella varianssianalyysilla sek\u00e4 bin\u00e4\u00e4risell\u00e4 logistisella regressioanalyysilla taustatekij\u00f6iden apuv\u00e4lineisiin, teknologiaan ja et\u00e4teknologiaan liittyv\u00e4n yhteyden ja selitysasteen selvitt\u00e4miseksi. Apuv\u00e4lineiden, teknologian ja et\u00e4teknologian tulevaisuutta koskeville ilmaisuille tehtiin sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysi ydinosaamisen viitekehyksess\u00e4 yhtenev\u00e4isten teemojen l\u00f6yt\u00e4miseksi. \r\n\r\nApuv\u00e4lineit\u00e4 k\u00e4yttiv\u00e4t fysioterapiassa enemm\u00e4n naiset (p < .001) sek\u00e4 kunnallisella sektorilla (p < .001) ja lasten, nuorten ja ik\u00e4\u00e4ntyneiden henkil\u00f6iden (p < .001) parissa ty\u00f6skentelev\u00e4t fysioterapeutit. Apuv\u00e4lineit\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin l\u00e4hes kaikilla fysioterapian erikoisalueilla (p \u2264 .001) pois lukien syd\u00e4n- ja hengityselinten fysioterapia (p = .416). Teknologiaa ja et\u00e4teknologiaa k\u00e4yttiv\u00e4t fysioterapiassa enemm\u00e4n yksityisell\u00e4 sektorilla ja ty\u00f6ik\u00e4isten parissa ty\u00f6skentelev\u00e4t fysioterapeutit (p < .05). Teknologiaa ja et\u00e4teknologiaa k\u00e4ytetiin ty\u00f6fysioterapiassa (p < .001) ja teknologiaa tuki- ja liikuntaelinten (p < .001) sek\u00e4 et\u00e4teknologiaa syd\u00e4n- ja hengityselinten (p = .001) fysioterapiassa. Taustatekij\u00f6ist\u00e4 fysioterapeutin korkeampi ik\u00e4, ty\u00f6skentely yksityissektorilla sek\u00e4 ty\u00f6 gerontologis-geriatrisessa, neurologisessa, psykofyysisess\u00e4 ja ty\u00f6fysioterapiassa selitti apuv\u00e4lineiden k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4 fysioterapiassa (R\u00b2 = 9,4%). Fysioterapeutin korkeampi ik\u00e4 sek\u00e4 ty\u00f6skentely yksityissektorilla ja ty\u00f6fysioterapeuttina selitti teknologian k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4 fysioterapiassa (R\u00b2 = 8,1%). Ty\u00f6skentely yksityissektorilla ja ty\u00f6fysioterapeuttina selitti et\u00e4teknologian k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4 fysioterapiassa (R\u00b2 = 5,8%). Fysioterapeuttien ilmaisemissa tulevaisuuden n\u00e4kemyksiss\u00e4 nousi teemoina kehitys- ja yhteisty\u00f6osaaminen apuv\u00e4lineiden ja teknologian alueilla, apuv\u00e4lineiden ja teknologian hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4minen ennaltaehk\u00e4isev\u00e4ss\u00e4 fysioterapiassa ja kotona selviytymisen tukena sek\u00e4 teknologian k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 asiakkaiden motivoinnissa. \r\n\r\nSuomalaiset fysioterapeutit k\u00e4ytt\u00e4v\u00e4t enemm\u00e4n ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n apuv\u00e4lineit\u00e4 kuin terveys- ja hyvinvointiteknologiaa tai et\u00e4teknologiaa. More information is needed on the use of assistive devices, technology and distance technology in physiotherapy, about their relationship to the core-competences of physiotherapy, and about factors which influence their use in physiotherapy. The purpose of this Master\u2019s thesis was to find out how individual and work-related background information of Finnish physiotherapist\u2019s influences on the use of assistive devices and technology. In addition, the purpose was to clarify how Finnish physiotherapists see assistive devices and technology as part of the future physiotherapy and the future physiotherapy education. \r\n\r\nThe research material was gathered in the physiotherapy core-competence survey consisting the background information together with competency-related statements and future perceptions of assistive devices and technology. The data includes answers from 1909 members of Finnish Association of Physiotherapists who works as physiotherapist. The quantitative data analysis methods and qualitative content analysis were used to answer research questions of the thesis. Quantitative analysis methods were Cross Tabulation test, Pearson Chi-Square test, T-test, One Way Anova test, and Binary Logistic Regression test. \r\n\r\nThe use of assistive devices was general with female physiotherapists (p < .001), with physiotherapists working in the municipal sector (p < .001), and with physiotherapists working with children and adolescents (p < .001). The assistive devices were generally used in almost all physiotherapy specialties (p \u2264 .001) excluding the cardio and respiratory physiotherapy (p = .416). The use of technology and distance technology were general with physiotherapists working in the private sector and with the adults of working age (p < .05). Technology and distance technology were generally used in the occupational physiotherapy (p < .001), technology in the musculoskeletal physiotherapy (p < .001), and distance technology in the cardio and respiratory physiotherapy (p = .001). Physiotherapist\u2019s higher age, work at the private sector, and working as geriatric, neurologic, psycho-physical and occupational physiotherapist, estimates the use of assistive devices in physiotherapy (R\u00b2 = 9,4%). Physiotherapist\u2019s higher age, work at the private sector, and working as occupational physiotherapist estimates the use of technology in physiotherapy (R\u00b2 = 8,1%). Physiotherapist\u2019s work at the private sector, and working as occupational physiotherapist estimates the use of distance technology in physiotherapy (R\u00b2 = 5,8%). In the future views expressed by physiotherapists, special emphasis was placed on developmental and collaborative skills in assistive devices and technology areas, the utilization of assistive devices and technology in preventive physiotherapy and support for management at home, and the use of technology in motivating customers. \r\n\r\nFinnish physiotherapists use more assistive devices than health and wellbeing related technology or distance technology.
