Tavoitteena oli tutkia tuoreiden kasvisten, kypsennettyjen kasvisten sek\u00e4 hedelmien ja marjojen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4 ja niiden sy\u00f6nniss\u00e4 tapahtunutta muutosta. Lis\u00e4ksi selvitettiin, miten sukupuoli, paino, painoindeksi, vy\u00f6t\u00e4r\u00f6nymp\u00e4rys ja el\u00e4m\u00e4ntilanne ovat yhteydess\u00e4 kasvisten sy\u00f6miseen sek\u00e4 miten yksil\u00f6n aikomus muuttaa ruokak\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymist\u00e4 vaikuttaa itse muutoksen tekemiseen.\r\n\r\nTutkimus on osa Keski-Suomen alueella toteutettua ryhm\u00e4ohjausta (2011-2016) ja tutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin kyselylomakkeella alku- (0 kk), v\u00e4li- (6 kk) ja loppumittauksessa (12 kk). Tutkimusaineistoon (N=333, naiset n=260, miehet n=73) sis\u00e4llytettiin ainoastaan ruokak\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymist\u00e4 koskevat kysymykset ja tutkimuksessa k\u00e4ytettiin seuraavia m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4llisi\u00e4 analyysimenetelmi\u00e4: ristiintaulukointi, Khiin neli\u00f6-testi, toistomittausten varianssianalyysi ja siirtym\u00e4matriisi.\r\n\r\nTulosten mukaan ryhm\u00e4ohjauksen alussa yli puolet (63,7 %) ryhm\u00e4l\u00e4isist\u00e4 toivoi muutosta sy\u00f6miseens\u00e4 ja nelj\u00e4sosa (26,4 %) aikoi l\u00e4hiaikoina muuttaa sy\u00f6mist\u00e4\u00e4n; ryhm\u00e4ohjauksen aikana sek\u00e4 miesten ett\u00e4 naisten kasvisten sy\u00f6nti lis\u00e4\u00e4ntyi (p<0.001); ja vastaavasti koko ryhm\u00e4ohjauksen aikana naiset s\u00f6iv\u00e4t miehi\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n kasviksia (p<0.005). Ryhm\u00e4ohjauksen kuuden kuukauden kohdalla noin kaksi kolmasosaa ryhm\u00e4l\u00e4isist\u00e4 s\u00f6i enemm\u00e4n tuoreita kasviksia sek\u00e4 hedelmi\u00e4 ja marjoja kuin ryhm\u00e4ohjauksen alussa. Vastaavasti kypsennettyjen kasvisten k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 oli lis\u00e4\u00e4ntynyt v\u00e4hiten l\u00e4ht\u00f6tilanteesta samalla ajanjaksolla. V\u00e4li- (6 kk) ja loppumittauksen (12 kk) v\u00e4lill\u00e4 noin puolet (56,5 %), alussa v\u00e4h\u00e4n kasviksia sy\u00f6neist\u00e4 ryhm\u00e4l\u00e4isist\u00e4, ei ollut en\u00e4\u00e4 lis\u00e4nnyt hedelmien ja marjojen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4. Alussa v\u00e4h\u00e4n kasviksia sy\u00f6neist\u00e4 ryhm\u00e4l\u00e4isist\u00e4, reilu puolet (56,3 %) ei ollut lis\u00e4nnyt tuoreiden kasvisten k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4 ja kaksi kolmasosaa (67 %) ei ollut lis\u00e4nnyt kypsennettyjen kasvisten k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4. Osa, alussa v\u00e4h\u00e4n kasviksia sy\u00f6neist\u00e4 ryhm\u00e4l\u00e4isist\u00e4, oli jopa v\u00e4hent\u00e4nyt niiden (tuoreet kasvikset 27 %; kypsennetyt kasvikset 17,8 %) k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4. Kasvisten sy\u00f6nnin ja el\u00e4m\u00e4ntilanteen (p=0.385), painoindeksin (p=0.598) sek\u00e4 vy\u00f6t\u00e4r\u00f6nymp\u00e4ryksen (p=0.852) v\u00e4lill\u00e4 ei l\u00f6ytynyt tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4\u00e4 yhteytt\u00e4. Sen sijaan painonlaskun ja lis\u00e4\u00e4ntyneen kasvisten sy\u00f6nnin v\u00e4lill\u00e4 oli tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4 yhteys (p=0.001).\r\n\r\nTutkimuksen perusteella voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 ryhm\u00e4ohjauksella voi olla vaikutusta ryhm\u00e4l\u00e4isen kasvisten ja hedelmien sy\u00f6ntiin. Naiset s\u00f6iv\u00e4t ryhm\u00e4ohjauksen aikana enemm\u00e4n kasviksia kuin miehet. Ryhm\u00e4ohjauksen aikana suurin osa ryhm\u00e4l\u00e4isist\u00e4 pystyi lis\u00e4\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n tuoreiden kasvisten sek\u00e4 hedelmien ja marjojen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4. The purpose of this study was to examine the group member\u2019s vegetable eating and consumption during the 12-month long group counseling that took place in Central Finland. The goal was to examine the consumption of fresh vegetables, cooked vegetables and fruits and berries, as well as the change in the consumption. Furthermore, it was researched how gender, weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), waist circumference and marital status impact on making the change. \r\n\r\nThis research is a part of the group counseling (2011\u20132016) that took place in Central Finland and the research data was collected by questionnaire at 0, 6 and 12 months. The data (N=333, women n=260, men n=73) consisted of the questions that concerned food habits. The study included the following analysis methods: cross tabulation, Chi-square test, repeated measures ANOVA and transition matrix.\r\n\r\nAccording to the results over half (63,7 %) of the group members wished for a change in their eating and a quarter (26,4 %) was going to change their eating behavior in the near future. During the group counselling both men and women increased their vegetable consumption (p<0.001). During the entire group counselling, the women ate more vegetables than the men (p<0.005). After six months, approximately \u2154 of the group members ate more fresh vegetables and fruits and berries. At six months, the consumption of cooked vegetables had increased the least compared to the beginning. Between six and twelve months, about half (56,5 %) of the group members, that in the beginning ate little vegetables, had not anymore increased the consumption of fruits and berries. Half of the group members, that in the beginning ate little vegetables, had not increased the consumption of fresh (56,3 %)vegetables and two thirds (67 %) had not increased the consumption of cooked vegetables. Some of the group members, that in the beginning ate little vegetables, had even decreased the consumption of them (fresh vegetables 27 %; cooked vegetables 17,8 %). No statistically significant connection was found between vegetable consumption and life situation (p=0.385), BMI (p=0.598) and waist circumference (p=0.852). Instead a statistically significant connection between increased vegetable consumption and weight loss was found (p=0.001).\r\n\r\nBased on the results of this research it is possible influence the eating of vegetables and fruits among group members through group counselling. Women ate more vegetables than men during the group counselling. Most of the group members were able to increase the consumption of fresh vegetables and fruits and berries.
