Tutkielma on toteutettu kirjallisuuskatsauksena hyödyntäen uutisia ja tieteellisiä julkaisuita. Materiaalin perusteella useimmat kansalaiset ja organisaatiot ovat vielä halut-tomia käyttämään drone-teknologiaa itse. Useimmat kansalaiset eivät näe tarvetta omistaa omaa dronea tai kykene kuvittelemaan moraalisesti hyväksyttävää käyttötapaa yksityiselle dronelle. Alan kehitys on pitkälti vielä alan harrastajien ja valtioiden toiminnan varassa, koska yritykset eivät uskalla ottaa riskiä lainsäädännöllisesti epäselvän teknologian suhteen. Drone-teknologia on kuitenkin selvästi kasvava ala ja tutkielman tuloksia voidaan hyödyntää suurelle yleisölle kelpaavan drone-teknologian suunnittelussa. This study examines drone technology and its adoption from the perspective of UTAUT model. The study seeks to find out how the drone technology has been examined in various environments and answer the questions: what efforts have been made to make use of drone-technology in the civilian environment, and what problems the technology acceptance faces. The study has been carried out a literature-review making use of the news media and scientific publications. Based on the material, most citizens and organizations are still reluctant to use drone technology themselves. Most people do not see the need to own a drone or are unable to imagine a morally acceptable use for a private drone. Devel-opment in this field is still largely dependent on enthusiasts and governments organisations, because companies are afraid to take a risk with a legally ambiguous technology. However, drone-technology is clearly growing sector and the results of this thesis could be used to develop drone-technology that most people will accept.
