Kokonaism\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n lis\u00e4ksi on hyv\u00e4 tiet\u00e4\u00e4 miten aktiivisuus ja paikallaanolo kertyv\u00e4t p\u00e4iv\u00e4n aikana. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4: 1) Onko fyysisess\u00e4 aktiivisuudessa eroa kahden p\u00e4iv\u00e4n v\u00e4lill\u00e4, joista toisena oli urheiluharrastus ja toisena ei? 2) Rekister\u00f6iv\u00e4tk\u00f6 kiihtyvyysanturi ja lihasaktiivisuutta (elektromyografia, EMG) mittaavat shortsit fyysist\u00e4 aktiivisuutta eri tavalla a) p\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4, jolloin ei ole harjoitusta, b) harjoitusp\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4? Tutkittavat (n = 14) olivat i\u00e4lt\u00e4\u00e4n 8\u20139-vuotiaita urheiluseurassa joukkuelajia harrastavia lapsia. Fyysist\u00e4 aktiivisuutta mitattiin kahtena p\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4, molempina yht\u00e4jaksoisesti noin 9 tunnin ajan. EMG-signaalin amplitudi normalisoitiin k\u00e4velyn aikana mitatusta lihasaktiivisuudesta laskettuun keskiarvoon ja eri aktiivisuustasot m\u00e4\u00e4ritettiin (inaktiivisuus, kevyt, reipas ja rasittava). Kiih-tyvyysanturin tuottama tieto analysoitiin k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en Van Cauwenberghe\u2019n raja-arvoja. Tutkit-tavien fyysisess\u00e4 aktiivisuudessa ei havaittu merkitt\u00e4vi\u00e4 eroja eri mittausp\u00e4ivien v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Sen sijaan fyysisen aktiivisuuden mittaustapa vaikutti mittaustuloksiin, varsinkin kun aktiivisuus oli intensiteetilt\u00e4\u00e4n matalaa. Molempina p\u00e4ivin\u00e4 mitatusta ajasta kului inaktiivisuuteen EMG-mittauksen mukaan keskim\u00e4\u00e4rin 43 %, joka oli v\u00e4hemm\u00e4n kuin kiihtyvyysanturin mukaan (86 %, p = 0.001) ja kevyeen aktiivisuuteen vastaavasti 40 % (EMG) ja 6 % (kiihtyvyysantu-ri) (p = 0.001). Therefore, it is important to know specifically how children's physical activity accumulates during the day. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether the children\u2019s physical activity differs between a day when they take part in sports and a day without sports. It was also studied, if an acceleration sensor and an electromyogram (EMG) indicator give differ-ent evaluations of physical activity during a) sports participation day, b) non\u00ac\u00ac sports partici-pation day. The subjects were 8-9-year-old children (n = 14) participating in group sports in a sports club. EMG signal was normalized to that recorded during walking and inactivity, light, moderate and vigorous physical activity levels were defined. For the accelerometer data, the van Gauwenberghe method was used. There were no significant differences in physical activity level between different measurement days meaning that the sports session did not increase the overall daily physical activity. The measurement method affected the results, especially when the activity was low in intensity. On both days, on average 43% of time was spent inactive based on EMG and 86% based on accelerometer (p = 0.001). For light activity, corresponding values were 40% (EMG) and 6% (accelerometer) (p = 0.001). Instead, moderate and vigorous physical activity were similar with both methods.
