Liikuntatieteellinen tiedekunta, Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopisto, Liikuntapedagogiikan pro gradu -tutkielma, 59 s., 3 liitett\u00e4. \r\n\r\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, kuinka kahdeksannen luokan oppilaat sek\u00e4 heid\u00e4n huoltajansa kokivat oppilaan fyysisen kunnon ja miten arvio oli yhteydess\u00e4 Move!-mittauksista saatuihin objektiivisiin kuntotuloksiin. Oppilaiden ja huoltajien kokemuksia selvitettiin kyselylomakkeilla, joissa hy\u00f6dynnettiin Move!-palautej\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n palautteita. Tutkimuksen avulla etsittiin my\u00f6s vapaa-ajan liikunnan m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n sek\u00e4 urheiluseuratoiminnan m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n yhteyksi\u00e4 Move!-mittaustuloksiin. Lis\u00e4ksi selvitettiin vapaa-ajallaan eri m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n liikkuvien oppilaiden itsearviointien eroavaisuuksia. My\u00f6s kahdeksannen luokan tytt\u00f6jen ja poikien v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 eroja fyysisess\u00e4 toimintakyvyss\u00e4 Move!-mittauksen perusteella tutkittiin. Kohderyhm\u00e4n\u00e4 tutkimuksessa olivat kahdeksannen luokan oppilaat Tohmaj\u00e4rven ja Vetelin yl\u00e4kouluista.\r\n\r\nTutkimuksesta saadut tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 tyt\u00f6t arvioivat itse\u00e4\u00e4n heikommiksi ja pojat puo-lestaan paremmiksi kuin Move!-mittaus osoitti. Move!-mittausten tulosten perusteella tyt\u00f6t olivat poikia paremmassa fyysisess\u00e4 kunnossa jokaisella mittausosiolla tarkasteltuna. Poikien huoltajat olivat arvioineet lapsensa fyysisesti vahvemmiksi todelliseen mittaukseen n\u00e4hden, kun taas tytt\u00f6jen huoltajat olivat arvioineet lapsiaan realistisemmin. Move!-mittauksessa hyv\u00e4n tuloksen saaneet oppilaat arvioivat itse\u00e4\u00e4n tarkemmin kuin heikosti menestyneet. Lis\u00e4ksi havaittiin, ett\u00e4 urheiluseurassa ja vapaa-ajallaan liikuntaa harrastavat oppilaat p\u00e4rj\u00e4siv\u00e4t Move!-mittauksessa muita paremmin.\r\n\r\nTulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 oppilailla oli vaikeuksia arvioida itse\u00e4\u00e4n realistisesti Move!-mittaukseen pohjautuen. Department of Sport and Health Sciences, University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, Master's thesis in Sports Pedagogy, 59 pp. 3 appen-dices.\r\n\r\nThe aim of this study was to find out how the 8th grade students and their caretakers evaluat-ed the students' physical fitness and how their evaluations corresponded to the objective Move! measurement scores on physical fitness. The evaluations of the students and their care-takers were examined via questionnaires which utilized the feedback received from the Move! feedback system. The study also aimed to find out whether the amount of leisure time physi-cal activity and the amount of participation in sports club activity are visible in the Move! sta-tistics. Furthermore, the study examined the differences between the self-evaluations done by the 8th grade students who spend different amount of time on physical activity in their leisure time. The differences in the physical functional capacity between the girls and the boys were also examined based on the Move! measurements. The target group in this study was the 8th grade students in upper comprehensive schools of Tohmaj\u00e4rvi and Veteli. \r\n\r\nThe results showed that the girls evaluated themselves to be in a weaker physical fitness and the boys evaluated themselves to be in a better physical fitness than what the Move! meas-urement indicated. According to the Move! scores, the girls were in a better physical condition in every measurement section. The boys\u2019 caretakers had evaluated their children to be physi-cally stronger than what the actual scores indicated whereas the girls\u2019 caretakers had evaluated their children more realistically. The students who achieved good results in the Move! meas-urement evaluated themselves more accurately than the students who did poorly in the meas-urement sections. Moreover, those students who were physically active in sports clubs and in their leisure time achieved better results in the Move! measurement than the others.\r\n\r\nWhen comparing the self-evaluations to the obtained Move! scores, it can be stated that, the students had difficulties evaluate themselves realistically. Based on the results it can be sug-gested that it would be important to create possibilities for experience of success for young people, since perceived competence adds motivation for exercise.
