Se on nopeuttanut ja helpottanut animaation tekemistä. Tietotekniikan avulla animaatiota hyödynnetään nykyään monella eri alalla. Filmiteollisuus on alan tutuinta aluetta, mutta animaatiota käytetään nykyisin mm. tietokonepeleissä, kännykkäsovelluksissa ja mainoksissa jatkuvasti. Animaation tekeminen on nykyisin myös lähes kaikkien ulottuvilla, koska toteutukseen ei tarvita erityisiä laitteita ja osa ohjelmista on kaikkien käytössä. The process of creating animation has changed and evolved over the years. The goal of this study is to examine how information technology has contributed to the development of the animation industry and what opportunities it has brought with it. The study focuses on animation in the United States and Japan. On the basis of the literature review, we can conclude that information technology has had a major impact on animation. It has made the process of creating animation much easier and faster. With the help of information technology, animation is now utilized in many different fields. When it comes to animation, the film industry is arguably most known for utilizing it. However, animation is also used a lot elsewhere such as in computer games, mobile applications, and advertisements. Creating animation is nowadays accessible to almost everyone, because no special equipment is required for implementing it and several of the programs required for creating it are available to everyone.
