Tutkielman yhteydessä tehdyllä kyselytutkimuksella selvitettiin suomalaisten indie-pelistudioiden kokemuksia sovelluskauppaoptimoinnista. Saatujen tulosten perusteella sovelluskauppaoptimointia käyttäneet pelistudiot ovat koke- neet sen hyödylliseksi menetelmäksi pelin näkyvyyden parantamiseksi sovelluskaupassa. The success of the Finnish mobile games has been huge in recent years. However, the majority of mobile games won’t achieve success, and one of the main reasons for this is that the game does not manage to achieve the visibility required for the success of the app store. This thesis focuses on the App Store Optimization (ASO), which provides an oppor- tunity to improve the visibility of the game without significant financial investments. The research method was a survey, which was used to study how the Finnish game studios ex- perience the App Store Optimization. Based on the results obtained from the survey, the game studios who have used the App Store Optimization, have found it useful as a method for improving the visibility of the game in the app store.
