N\u00e4m\u00e4 j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4t ovat monimutkaisia ja niiden k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6notto sis\u00e4lt\u00e4\u00e4 suuria riskej\u00e4 sek\u00e4 vaatii paljon aikaa, rahaa ja vaivaa. T\u00e4m\u00e4n vuoksi on t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 tunnistaa tekij\u00e4t, jotka ovat t\u00e4rkeit\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6noton onnistumisen takaamiseksi.\r\n\r\nT\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkielma keskittyi tunnistamaan BI-j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6noton kriittiset menestystekij\u00e4t ja ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n miksi juuri n\u00e4m\u00e4 tekij\u00e4t ovat t\u00e4rkeit\u00e4. Menestystekij\u00e4t l\u00f6ydettiin ja niit\u00e4 analysoitiin hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 olemassaolevaa kirjallisuutta. Menestystekij\u00e4t luokiteltiin organisatoriseen ulottuvuuteen, prosessiulottuvu- uteen ja teknologiseen ulottuvuuteen. Organisatorisen ulottuvuuden t\u00e4rkeim- m\u00e4t menestystekij\u00e4t olivat selke\u00e4 visio ja hyvin luotu liiketoimintasuunnitelma, sitoutuneen johdon tuki, sek\u00e4 organisaation kulttuurin ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4minen. Prosessiulottuvuuden t\u00e4rkeimm\u00e4t menestystekij\u00e4t olivat tiimin asianmukaiset taidot, k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4orientoitunut muutosjohtaminen, sek\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4n koulutus ja tuki. Teknologisesta ulottuvuudesta skaalautuva ja muuntautumiskykyinen teknologinen viitekehys, kest\u00e4v\u00e4 datan laatu, virheett\u00f6myys ja ehjyys, sek\u00e4 yrityksen tarpeiden, vaatimusta ja prosessien ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4minen n\u00e4htiin kaikkein t\u00e4rkeimpin\u00e4. BI system can be seen as an integrated set of tools, technologies and software to support the decision-making. These systems are complex and their implementa- tion has high risks and require a lot of time, money and effort, and therefore it is important to identify the factors that support the successful implementation.\r\n\r\nThis thesis focused on recognising the critical success factors (CSFs) for BI system implementation, and understanding why they are important. The CSFs were found and further analysed based on existing literature. The most important CSFs were categorised in organisational, process and technological dimensions. The CSFs from the organisational dimension were clear vision and well-established business case, committed management support and sponsorship, and understanding of organisational culture. From the process dimension the most crucial CSFs were appropriate team skills, user-oriented change management, and user training and support. And from the technological dimension business driven, scalable and flexible framework; sustainable data quality, accuracy and integrity; and understanding the firms needs, requirements and processes were identified as most vital.
