Johdettu toi-\r\nsen kertaluvun vaikutusalala sis\u00e4lt\u00e4\u00e4 pehme\u00e4n divergenssin prosessin sis\u00e4lt\u00e4mien\r\nsis\u00e4isten gluonien takia. T\u00e4m\u00e4 divergenssi katkaisu-reguloidaan, mist\u00e4 saadaan\r\n\u00e4\u00e4relliset numeerisesti laskettavat vaikutusalat ja rakennefunktiot.\r\nJohdetut toisen kertaluvun korjaukset evaluoidaan numeerisesti ja verrataan\r\ntunnettuihin johtavan kertaluvun tuloksiin. It is of interest whether\r\nthis description can be bettered by studying higher order perturbation theory\r\neffects.\r\nTo improve the description, this work derives corrections to the Deep Inelastic\r\nScattering cross sections and structure functions at next-to-leading order in light\r\ncone perturbation theory. To do this the framework of quantum field theory on the\r\nlight cone is introduced along with necessities of perturbation theory on the light\r\ncone and the dipole picture of the scattering. The derived next-to-leading order\r\ncross section result has a soft divergence that is regulated with a cut-off, which\r\nthen yields access to numerically evaluable cross sections and structure functions.\r\nThe next-to-leading order corrections are evaluated numerically and compared\r\nto established leading order results. It is found that while the regularization works,\r\nthe divergence is over-subtracted leading to inviably large corrections to the leading\r\nresult. This leads to the next-to-leading order cross section and structure function\r\nresults becoming negative at high photon virtualities, which is unphysical.
