Tavoitteena on\ntutkia kuudennen luokan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen ja tunne-el\u00e4m\u00e4n vahvuuksien\nvaikutusta k\u00e4yt\u00f6sh\u00e4iri\u00f6isen koulumenestykseen seitsem\u00e4nnell\u00e4 luokalla.\nTutkimuskysymyksi\u00e4ni on kolme. Ensimm\u00e4inen tutkimuskysymys on,\nennustavatko kuudennen luokan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen ja tunne-el\u00e4m\u00e4n vahvuudet\nsek\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymish\u00e4iri\u00f6 seitsem\u00e4nnen luokan koulumenestyst\u00e4. Toinen\ntutkimuskysymys on, suojaavatko k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen ja tunne-el\u00e4m\u00e4n vahvuudet\nk\u00e4yt\u00f6sh\u00e4iri\u00f6isen oppimista. Kolmas tutkimuskysymys on, mitk\u00e4 asiat\nvaikuttavat seitsem\u00e4nnen luokan koulumenestykseen. Tutkimukseni tein\nhierarkkisella lineaarisella regressioanalyysill\u00e4.\n\nTutkimukseni tulokseksi sain ensimm\u00e4iseen tutkimuskysymykseen, ett\u00e4\nkuudennen luokan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen ja tunne-el\u00e4m\u00e4n vahvuudet eiv\u00e4t vaikuta\nseitsem\u00e4nnen luokan koulumenestykseen. K\u00e4yt\u00f6sh\u00e4iri\u00f6ll\u00e4 on negatiivinen\nvaikutus seitsem\u00e4nnen luokan koulumenestykseen eli mit\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n on\nk\u00e4yt\u00f6sh\u00e4iri\u00f6t\u00e4, sit\u00e4 huonompi koulumenestys on seitsem\u00e4nnell\u00e4 luokalla.\n\nToisen tutkimuskysymyksen tulos riippuu k\u00e4yt\u00f6sh\u00e4iri\u00f6n vahvuudesta.\nKuudennen luokan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen ja tunne-el\u00e4m\u00e4n vahvuudet eiv\u00e4t vaikuta\nniiden oppilaiden koulumenestykseen seitsem\u00e4nnell\u00e4 luokalla, joilla on paljon \nk\u00e4yt\u00f6sh\u00e4iri\u00f6t\u00e4. Seitsem\u00e4nnen luokan koulumenestys paranee hieman\nk\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen ja tunne-el\u00e4m\u00e4n vahvuuksien voimakkuuden mukaan niill\u00e4,\njoilla on keskiverroin k\u00e4yt\u00f6sh\u00e4iri\u00f6t\u00e4. Eli seitsem\u00e4nnen luokan koulumenestys\non sit\u00e4 parempi, mit\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n on k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen ja tunne-el\u00e4m\u00e4n\nvahvuuksia. V\u00e4h\u00e4n k\u00e4yt\u00f6sh\u00e4iri\u00f6isill\u00e4 seitsem\u00e4nnen luokan koulumenestys\nparanee merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti sen mukaan, kuinka paljon heill\u00e4 on k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen ja\ntunne-el\u00e4m\u00e4n vahvuuksia. Eli mit\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen ja tunne-el\u00e4m\u00e4n\nvahvuuksia kuudennella luokalla, sit\u00e4 parempi koulumenestys seitsem\u00e4nnell\u00e4\nluokalla.\n\nKolmannen tutkimuskysymyksen tulos on, ett\u00e4 seitsem\u00e4nnen luokan\nkoulumenestykseen vaikuttaa eniten kuudennen luokan koulumenestys eli,\nmit\u00e4 parempi koulumenestys kuudennella luokalla, sit\u00e4 parempi\nkoulumenestys seitsem\u00e4nnell\u00e4 luokalla. Toiseksi eniten seitsem\u00e4nnen luokan\nkoulumenestyst\u00e4 selitt\u00e4\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymish\u00e4iri\u00f6t eli mit\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n k\u00e4yt\u00f6sh\u00e4iri\u00f6it\u00e4,\nsit\u00e4 huonompi seitsem\u00e4nnen luokan koulumenestys. K\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen\nvahvuuksilla eik\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen ja tunne-el\u00e4m\u00e4n sek\u00e4 k\u00e4yt\u00f6sh\u00e4iri\u00f6n\nyhdysvaikutuksella ollut vaikutusta seitsem\u00e4nnen luokan koulumenestykseen.\n\nTutkittavani ovat 6.-7.- luokkalaisia. Vanhemmat ovat arvioineet lapsen\nvahvuuksia ja opettaja h\u00e4nen k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymish\u00e4iri\u00f6t\u00e4\u00e4n sek\u00e4 koulumenestyst\u00e4.\nAineistoni kuuluu ISKE-hankkeeseen ja k\u00e4yt\u00e4n regressioanalyysia\ntutkimusmenetelm\u00e4n\u00e4ni. Kasvatustieteiden laitos. 31 sivua.\n\nThe topic of my study is the strengths in behavior and emotions as protective\nfactors in learning of a student with a behavioral disorder. My aim is to study\nthe effects of a sixth grade's behavioral and emotional strengths on academic\nsuccess in seventh grade. Participants were sixth and seventh graders. Parents\nhave evaluated the strengths of the child and teachers have evaluated the\nbehavioral disorder and academic success. My data belongs to the ISKE-project\nand I use regressionanalysis as my method of research. My study is a\nquantitative study.\n\nI have three research questions. The first research question is whether the\nemotional and behavioral strengths in sixth grade, as well as a behovioral\ndisorder, predict academic success in seventh grade. The second research\nquestion is whether behavioral and emotional strengths protect the learning of\na student with a behavioral disorder. The third question asks which factors\naffect academic success in seventh grade.\n\nRegarding the first research question, the results of my study indicate that\nsixth grade behavioral and emotional strengths do not affect academic success\nin seventh grade. The behavioral disorder has a negative effect on academic\nsuccess in seventh grade. In other words, the more behavioral disorder there is,\nthe worse the academic success is in seventh grade.\n\nThe results of the second research question depend on the strength of the\nbehavioral disorder. Behavioral and emotional strenghts do not effect students'\nwho have plenty of behavioral disorder. Behavioral and emotional strenghts in\nsixth grade can have a small positive impact on academic success in seventh\ngrade in those students' who have a medium level of behavioral disorder. Those\nwith a small amount of behavioral disorder high levels of behavioral and \nemotional strengths can have a positive effect on academic success in seventh\ngrade. Thus, the more behavioral disorder there is present in sixth grade, the\nless positive effect the behavioral and emotional strengths can have on\nacademic success in seventh grade.\n\nThe results of the third research question is, that academic success in sixth\ngrade is the strongest indicator of academic success in seventh grade. Thus, the\nbetter the academic success in sixth grade, the better will the academic success\nbe in seventh grade. The second strongest indicator of academic success in\nseventh grade was the amount of behavioral disorder.
