Yl\u00e4koululaisten fyysinen aktiivisuus, viih-tyminen ja suhtautuminen koulun j\u00e4rjest\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n liikuntakerhotoimintaan. Liikuntakasvatuksen laitos, Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopisto. Liikuntapedagogiikan pro gradu -tutkielma, 82 sivua., 5 liitett\u00e4.\r\nTutkielmassa selvitettiin yl\u00e4koululaisten suhtautumista liikuntakerhoihin sek\u00e4 liikuntakerho-jen haasteita ja mahdollisuuksia. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkittiin yl\u00e4koululaisten fyysist\u00e4 aktiivisuutta, lii-kuntamotivaatiota vapaa-ajalla ja koulussa viihtymist\u00e4. Aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin syksyn 2015 aikana kyselylomakkeilla kolmesta jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4l\u00e4isest\u00e4 koulusta. Tutkimukseen osallistui yhteens\u00e4 15 yl\u00e4koulun luokkaa, joissa oli 265 oppilasta, 122 tytt\u00f6\u00e4 ja 143 poikaa. \r\n\r\nTutkielma toteutettiin kvantitatiivisena kyselytutkimuksena ja tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin tilastollisin menetelmin IBM SPSS-Statistics -ohjelman avulla. Luokka-asteiden ja sukupuol-ten v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 eroja arvioitiin yksisuuntaisen varianssianalyysin avulla ja vertailuja tehtiin T-testill\u00e4. Luokka-asteiden v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 eroja tarkasteltiin Tukeyn HSD-testill\u00e4. Mittareiden sis\u00e4ist\u00e4 luotettavuutta arvioitiin Cronbachin alfakertoimella.\r\n\r\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkielman tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 yl\u00e4koulun oppilaista vain harva osallistui koulussa j\u00e4rjestettyihin liikuntakerhoihin. Yleisimm\u00e4ksi liikuntakerhoon osallistumisen esteeksi nousi kiinnostuksen puute kerhoja kohtaan. Toisiksi yleisemm\u00e4ksi syyksi oppilaat kokivat sen, ett-eiv\u00e4t kerhot innosta osallistumaan. Ajan kuluminen muissa harrastuksissa ja kerhojen heikko arvostus kaveripiireiss\u00e4 olivat seuraavaksi merkitt\u00e4vimpi\u00e4 osallistumisen esteit\u00e4. Tulosten mukaan yl\u00e4koululaiset toivoivat yhteens\u00e4 42 eri liikuntalajia koulun liikuntakerhoihin. Kyse-lytutkimuksen perusteella suurin osa oppilaista kannatti liikuntakerhon j\u00e4rjest\u00e4mist\u00e4 koulun-p\u00e4iv\u00e4n j\u00e4lkeen. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkielman tuloksista ilmeni, ett\u00e4 oppilaat toivoivat koulun liikunta-kerhon kest\u00e4v\u00e4n 60 minuuttia. \r\n\r\nFyysinen aktiivisuus erosi tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4sti 9.-luokalla, poikien ollessa tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 aktii-visempia (p=0.027). Tilastollisesti merkitsevi\u00e4 eroja fyysisess\u00e4 aktiivisuudessa ei ollut 7.\u00ac- ja 8.- luokilla. Tulosten mukaan 7.\u20139.-luokilla tyt\u00f6t viihtyiv\u00e4t poikia paremmin koulussa. Moti-vaation ulottuvuuksia kartoittaessa selvisi, ett\u00e4 tyt\u00f6t tunnistivat poikia paremmin vapaa-ajan liikunnan t\u00e4rkeyden ja hy\u00f6dyt. Lis\u00e4ksi 7.- ja 8.-luokkalaisten v\u00e4lill\u00e4 oli tilastollisesti merkit-sev\u00e4 ero (p=0.001), 7.-luokkalaiset tunnistavat 8.-luokkalaisia paremmin vapaa-ajan liikunnan t\u00e4rkeyden ja hy\u00f6dyt. Tyt\u00f6t kokivat poikia useammin itsens\u00e4 huonoksi vapaa-ajan liikunnassa. He kokivat my\u00f6s enemm\u00e4n syyllisyytt\u00e4 ja h\u00e4pe\u00e4\u00e4 liikkumattomuudesta. Lis\u00e4ksi tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4 ero (p=0.001) oli 8.- ja 7.-luokkalaisten v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Oppilaista 8.-luokkalaiset kokivat 7.-luokkalaisia useammin h\u00e4pe\u00e4\u00e4 ja syyllisyytt\u00e4 sek\u00e4 itsens\u00e4 huonoksi liikkumattomuudesta. Luokka-asteita vertailtaessa 7.-luokkalaiset olivat 8.-luokkalaisia motivoituneempia harrasta-maan vapaa-ajan liikuntaa nautinnon, hauskuuden, mukavuuden ja ilon takia. \r\n\r\nT\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkielma toi uutta tietoa yl\u00e4koululaisten liikuntakerhoihin liittyvist\u00e4 asenteista. Master\u2019s thesis, 82 pp., 5 appendices\r\nThe aim of this study was to investigate secondary school students\u2019 attitudes towards after school pro-grams. This study also investigated barriers and opportunities for participating in after school pro-grams. In addition, the levels of physical activity, sport motivation and school enjoyment of the sec-ondary school students was examined. The data collection was carried out in the autumn of 2015, by paper questionnaires in three Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 secondary schools.\r\n\r\nThe number of participants in this study was 265 secondary school students from Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4. The par-ticipants consisted of 122 girls and 143 boys from 15 different classes. This study was a quantitative questionnaire research and the data was analyzed with statistical means, using IBM SPSS-Statistics -program. Internal differences in grades and genders were evaluated with one-way ANOVA and com-parisons were made with T-test. Differences between grades were inspected by Tukey\u2019s HSD-test. The internal reliability of indicators was evaluated with Cronbach\u2019s alpha. \r\n\r\nThis study showed that only few secondary school students participate in after school programs. The most common barrier for participating was lack of interest toward the after school program. Other definitive perceived barriers were the programs were not perceived as exiting by students, lack of time due to other hobbies and low appreciation of after school programs in students\u2019 social circles. The results showed that students requested 42 different sports that they would like to try in the after school program. The results indicated that the students preferred the duration of 60 minutes for after school programs. Additionally, majority of the students wanted the program to be after the school day and not before or during it.\r\nQuestionnaires showed that boys were more physically active than girls in 9th grade (p=0.027). There were no statistically significant differences in physical activity levels in 7th or 8th grade students. Re-sults showed that girls from 7th to 9th grade experienced more enjoyment in school than boys. Motiva-tional aspects showed statistically significant differences (p=0.001) between sexes and 7th versus 8th graders. Girls and 7th graders identify the importance and benefits of leisure time physical activity better than boys and 8th graders. Girls experienced more than boys and 8th graders more than 7th graders on a statistically significant level (p=0.001), feelings of negativity, guilt, shame and failure in leisure time physical activity. Students on 7th grade were more motivated than 8th graders in leisure time phys-ical activity because of enjoyment, fun, comfort and joy. \r\nThis research gave new information about secondary school students\u2019 attitudes towards after school programs.
