Tutkielman tarkoituksena on kartoittaa genren pelejä ja niiden syntyä sekä erityisesti yhteisöjä niiden ympärillä, keskittyen kahteen tällä hetkellä suosituinpaan peliin jotka ovat League of Legends sekä Dota 2. Lähteenä on käytetty kirjallisuuden lisäksi pelejä itseään. Tutkielma koostaa minkälaisista osista tämän hetken suosituimmat e-urheilu pelit koostuvat. Peleissä on hyvin vähän eroja ja pelaamisen oppiminen on työlästä joten pelaajat todennäköisesti eivät pelaa kumpaakin peliä yhtäaikaa. Peliyhtiöt käsittelevät samoja yhteisöihin liittyviä piirteitä hieman eri tavoin keskenään. MOBA games have become popular in past few years, and they are now most popular MMO-games. They are also popular in e-sport scene with many players and spectators all around the world. This genre has strong communities who help the game industries to develop these games, for example by giving feedback about communication in games. This study focuses on these games, how they were firs created and especially what kind of communities there are. I will examine two games in the genre, League of Legends and Dota 2, which are most played games in the genre at the moment. There are very little differences between the games and learning to play can take time. That is why players don't play simultaneously both games. Game companies treat similar community aspects with little different approaches.
