Terveystieteiden laitos. 109 sivua.\r\n\r\nT\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kuvata yleisesti nuorten ruokatottumuksia sek\u00e4 vertailla 5. ja 9. luokkalaisten sek\u00e4 tytt\u00f6jen ja poikien v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 eroja. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkimus pyrki selvitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n, millaisia asioita nuoret kokevat merkityksellisiksi ruokavalinnoissaan, mit\u00e4 l\u00e4hteit\u00e4 nuoret k\u00e4ytt\u00e4v\u00e4t etsiess\u00e4\u00e4n tietoa ravitsemuksesta sek\u00e4 pit\u00e4v\u00e4tk\u00f6 he k\u00e4ytt\u00e4mi\u00e4\u00e4n l\u00e4hteit\u00e4 luotettavina.\r\n5. ja 9. luokkalaisten (n=4007) ruokatottumuksia selvitettiin WHO-Koululaistutkimuksen kvantitatiivisen aineiston avulla. Aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin vuonna 2014. Nuorten v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 eroja tutkittiin ristiintaulukoinnilla ja Khiin neli\u00f6-testill\u00e4 selvitettiin niiden tilastollista merkitsevyytt\u00e4. Ruokavalintoja ja tietol\u00e4hteiden k\u00e4ytt\u00e4mist\u00e4 sek\u00e4 niiden luotettavuuden arviointia selvitettiin kvalitatiivisella aineistolla, joka ker\u00e4ttiin haastattelemalla 5. luokkalaisia tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 (n=4) ja poikia (n=3) sek\u00e4 9. luokkalaisia tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 (n=3) ja poikia (n=3). Kvalitatiivinen aineisto analysoitiin teoriaohjaavaa sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysia noudattaen.\r\nTutkimuksesta ilmeni, ett\u00e4 tyt\u00f6t s\u00f6iv\u00e4t yleisemmin hedelmi\u00e4 ja vihanneksia kuin pojat. Pojat joivat yleisemmin limsoja ja energiajuomia kuin tyt\u00f6t. Yhdeks\u00e4sluokkalaiset s\u00f6iv\u00e4t harvemmin vanhempien kanssa sek\u00e4 s\u00f6iv\u00e4t yleisemmin karkkia ja harvemmin kalaa kuin viidesluokkalaiset. Maku, n\u00e4lk\u00e4 ja terveellisyys olivat t\u00e4rkeimm\u00e4t tekij\u00e4t ruokavalinnoissa. Suosituimmat tiedonl\u00e4hteet olivat omat vanhemmat ja internet. Vanhempia pidettiin p\u00e4\u00e4asiassa luotettavana l\u00e4hteen\u00e4. Televisiota pidettiin luotettavampana l\u00e4hteen\u00e4 kuin interneti\u00e4, johon suhtauduttiin p\u00e4\u00e4asiassa kriittisesti.\r\nKoulun tulisi tehd\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n vanhempien kanssa yhteisty\u00f6t\u00e4 nuorten ravitsemuskasvatuksessa, koska ruokatottumukset vakiintuvat jo nuorena. Lis\u00e4ksi t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa ilmenneeseen poikien v\u00e4h\u00e4iseen hedelmien ja vihannesten sy\u00f6miseen tulisi kiinnitt\u00e4\u00e4 erityist\u00e4 huomiota, kuten my\u00f6s tytt\u00f6jen harvempaan aamiaisen sy\u00f6miseen.
