Lisäksi tutkimme SPH:n toimivuutta rajoitetuissa virtauksissa ja esittelemme menetelmiä rajoituksista seuraavien ongelmien korjaamiseksi tutkien erityisesti SPH:n renormalisaatiota. Lopulta käsittelemme ajan diskretisointia, simulaatiototeutuksessa tarvittavia tietorakenteita ja reunaehtoja sekä esittelemme simulaatiotuloksia sekä analyyttisesti ratkeaville Couette- ja Poiseuille -virtauksille sekä vertaamme hieman monimutkaisemman putkivirtauksen simulaatiotulosta äärellisten elementtien menetelmän tulokseen. In this thesis we study the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method and its applicability for solving the equations of motion of fluid dynamics. First we derive these equations of motion and then study ways to discretise the divergence, gradient and Laplace operators in them using SPH. Next we tackle the problems which are induced by introducing restrictions to the space in which the fluid flows. We study several solutions to these problems, focusing mainly on an elegant and simple solution, the renormalisation of the SPH. Finally we represent simulation results achieved using the renormalisation and compare them to analytical results and to finite element method results.
