Liikuntatieteen laitos, Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopisto. 109 sivua. \r\n\r\nPsykologisten taitojen vaikutusta on paljon tutkittu ja opetuksen hy\u00f6dyt n\u00e4iden taitojen oppimisessa ovat kiistattomat. T\u00e4st\u00e4kin huolimatta, emme tied\u00e4 viel\u00e4 tarpeeksi opettamisen ja oppimisen mekanismeista prosesseista psykologisten taitojen taustalla. L\u00e4hes kaikki alan tutkimukset ovat keskittyneet urheilumaailmaan ja esimerkiksi koulumaailma on l\u00e4hes tutkimaton alue alalla. \r\n\r\nT\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkimus keskittyi psykologisten taitojen opettamisen suunnitteluun, k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n toteutukseen ja arviointiin lukiokontekstissa. Osallistujat olivat lukion ensimm\u00e4isen ja toisen vuosikurssin opiskelijoita ja kaikilla heill\u00e4 oli urheilijatausta. Tutkimus oli laadullinen tapaustutkimus. Tutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin tutkijan p\u00e4iv\u00e4kirjoista, opiskelijoiden oppimisp\u00e4iv\u00e4kirjoista, loppukyselyst\u00e4, opiskelijahaastatteluista sek\u00e4 tutkimuksen j\u00e4lkeisest\u00e4 palautekyselyst\u00e4. Lis\u00e4ksi luokkahuoneopetuskerrat videoitiin ja saatua aineistoa k\u00e4ytettiin osana tutkimusaineistoa.\r\n\r\nTutkimusaineistolle tehtiin sis\u00e4lt\u00f6analysit. Tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 psykologisten taitojen oppimiseksi, opetus pit\u00e4\u00e4 j\u00e4rjest\u00e4\u00e4 siten, ett\u00e4 opetus suunnitellaan huolellisesti ja ett\u00e4 opetus sis\u00e4lt\u00e4\u00e4 paljon k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n harjoittelua, jotta oppimista tapahtuisi. Saadut tulokset osoittivat my\u00f6s, ett\u00e4 psykologisten taitojen oppimiseksi tarvitaan reilusti aikaa, jotta tuloksia saataisiin aikaiseksi ja ett\u00e4 taidot tulisivat osaksi opiskelijan arkea. Tulokset osoittivat my\u00f6s, ett\u00e4 opettajat ja opiskelijat pit\u00e4v\u00e4t psykologisten taitojen opettamista lukiossa t\u00e4rke\u00e4n\u00e4. Opiskelijat arvostivat erityisesti toiminnallista ja k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6nl\u00e4heist\u00e4 opetuksen l\u00e4hestymistapaa, jossa opiskelijat olivat opetuksen keskipisteess\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4 seikka auttoi opiskelijoita ottamaan tunneilla opetetut ja harjoitellut asiat osaksi omaa arkeaan. Saatujen tulosten perusteella lukion ensimm\u00e4isen ja toisen vuosikurssin opiskelijat eiv\u00e4t ole kovinkaan hyvin perill\u00e4 psykologisten taitojen k\u00e4sitteist\u00e4 ja metodeista. Opiskelijoiden oppimisp\u00e4iv\u00e4kirjat osoitivat, ett\u00e4 se on suhteellisen uusi opetusmetodi, jota t\u00e4ytyy viel\u00e4 harjoituttaa. Oppimisp\u00e4iv\u00e4kirjojen perusperiaatteita olisikin hyv\u00e4 opettaa lukiolaisille jo ennen t\u00e4llaisten kurssien aloittamista, mutta mieluiten jo lukion alusta l\u00e4htien, sill\u00e4 siit\u00e4 olisi hy\u00f6ty\u00e4 varsinkin jatko-opintoja ajatellen, mutta my\u00f6s oman toiminnan reflektoimiseksi.\r\n\r\nTutkijan p\u00e4iv\u00e4kirjojen mukaan t\u00e4llisen kurssin suunnittelu, k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n toteutus ja arviointi on aikaaviev\u00e4 prosessi, mutta varsin palkitseva lopulta. Huolellisen taustaty\u00f6n ja oppituntien suunnittelun avulla kurssin k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n toteutus oli helpompaa ja lopputulos oli sek\u00e4 kurssin opettajan ja tutkijan, ett\u00e4 opiskelijoiden mielest\u00e4 onnistunut. Lis\u00e4ksi olisi eritt\u00e4in t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 markkinoida vastaavia kursseja jatkossa niin lukioissa, kuin muissakin oppilaitoksissa.\r\n\r\nPsykologisten taitojen opettamista tulisi jatkossa tutkia sek\u00e4 kvalitatiivisesti, ett\u00e4 kvantitatiivisesti, mielell\u00e4\u00e4n yhdistellen molempia l\u00e4hestymistapoja, jotta saataisin tarkemmin selville taitojen opettamisen hy\u00f6dyllisyys. Department of Sport Sciences, University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4. 109 pages. \r\n\r\nThe effect of Psychological skills training (PST) has been widely studied and its impact on the enhancement of psychological skills is undeniable. However, our knowledge is limited about the processes of teaching and learning of these skills. Almost all of the studies related to PST have been done in sport settings and teaching these skills, e.g. in high school context, has remained an under-explored domain.\r\n\r\nThis study aimed to address the planning, implementation and evaluation of sport psychological skills training program in the high school context. Participants in this study were first and second year student-athletes. The study was conducted using a qualitative action research case study approach. Data was collected from the researcher diaries, learning logs from the four participants, the final inquiry, semi-structured student interviews and the post-intervention questionnaire. Videotaped classroom sessions were also used as a data source.\r\n\r\nResults from inductive content analysis revealed that psychological skills, like motor skills, have to be explicitly taught, modelled and practiced in order for mastery to occur. Results also showed that these skills take time to be learnt and internalized. Other results showed that psychological skills are most welcomed to be taught in high school setting. Students appreciated the functional and practical aspects in teaching and participatory and the student- centered teaching style helped students to connect the taught skills to their practices and everyday lives. The results showed that students at the age of 16-18 years were not very familiar with the concepts and methods used in the field of sport and exercise psychology. Student learning logs showed that it was a new teaching method and the students were not familiar with it. The principles of a learning log must be taught carefully before using it as a method of teaching and learning.\r\n\r\nThe results from the researcher diaries showed that planning, implementing and evaluating a PST course is time consuming but rewarding. The results showed the importance of careful pedagogical planning and evaluation behind the implementation and success of the program and that it is essential to promote PST programs in school contexts.\r\n\r\nPsychological skills training in a high school context needs to be studied in the future by using both quantitative and qualitative approaches to explore the effectiveness of these skills on students\u2019 actions.
