T\u00e4t\u00e4 aihetta on tutkittu Suomessa hyvin v\u00e4h\u00e4n, mutta maailmanlaajuisesti aiheesta l\u00f6ytyy joitakin tutkimuksia (ks. esim. Malinen ym. 2013, Dockrell ja Lindsay 2001 & Brackenreed\r\n2010). Kielellisest\u00e4 erityisvaikeudesta on saatavilla runsaasti tutkimusta ja tietoa, mutta opettajien opetuskokemuksista sit\u00e4 l\u00f6ytyy huomattavasti v\u00e4hemm\u00e4n. Aihe on kiinnostava, koska noin 7 prosenttia lapsista k\u00e4rsii kielellisest\u00e4 erityisvaikeudesta, mik\u00e4 on enemm\u00e4n kuin esimerkiksi ADHD:sta k\u00e4rsivien m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4. Lis\u00e4ksi kielellisen erityisvaikeuden tiedet\u00e4\u00e4n olevan hyvin persistentti kielellinen vaikeus.\r\n\r\nTutkimuksen keskeiset tutkimuskysymykset ovat seuraavat; kuinka opettajat suhtautuvat inkluusioon ja segregaatioon, kokevatko he saaneensa riitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti tietoa kielellisest\u00e4 erityisvaikeudesta, kuinka he kokevat p\u00e4rj\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4ns\u00e4 oppilaiden kanssa, millaiseksi opettajat kuvailevat oppilaita, joilla on kielellinen erityisvaikeus, ja kuinka he ottavat oppilaiden erilaiset tarpeet huomioon ja eriytt\u00e4v\u00e4t opetusta. Tutkimuksen aineisto koostuu nelj\u00e4n englannin opettajan ja kolmen erityisopettajan haastatteluista.\r\nHaastattelut toteutettiin kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 2015 Keski- ja It\u00e4-Suomessa.\r\n\r\nTutkimuksen hypoteesi oli, ett\u00e4 opettajat kokevat saaneensa hyvin v\u00e4h\u00e4n tietoa kielellisest\u00e4 erityisvaikeudesta opettajankoulutuksessa, mutta he kokisivat selviytyv\u00e4ns\u00e4 siit\u00e4 huolimatta. Tulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 hypoteesi oli paikkaansa pit\u00e4v\u00e4; kuusi seitsem\u00e4st\u00e4 opettajasta koki opettajankoulutuksen riitt\u00e4m\u00e4tt\u00f6m\u00e4n\u00e4, mutta kuitenkin tunsivat p\u00e4rj\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4ns\u00e4 oppilaiden kanssa v\u00e4hint\u00e4\u00e4nkin melko hyvin.\r\nLis\u00e4ksi he suhtautuivat melko positiivisesti oppilaisiin, joilla on kielellinen erityisvaikeus, sek\u00e4 heid\u00e4n opettamiseensa. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa ilmi tulleet kokemukset voivat auttaa kehitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n opettajankoulutusta, niin ett\u00e4 tietoa oppimisvaikeuksista tarjottaisiin enemm\u00e4n my\u00f6s aineenopettajille. Lis\u00e4ksi opettajien k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4t opetusmetodit ja eriytt\u00e4miskeinot auttavat ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n millaisia keinoja voidaan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 erilaisten oppijoiden kanssa.
