Ne ovat tuoneet yrityksille uusia mahdollisuuksia ja ominaisuuksia, joita perinteiset ulkoistamistavat eiv\u00e4t pysty tarjoamaan. Perinteisill\u00e4 ulkoistamistavoilla ja menetelmill\u00e4 t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimukses- sa tarkoitetaan kaikkia IT:n ulkoistusmuotoja, jotka ovat tulleet markkinoille ennen pilvipalveluita.\nT\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkielma toteutettiin kirjallisuuskatsauksena, jossa pyrittiin l\u00f6yt\u00e4- m\u00e4\u00e4n ratkaisevat eroavaisuudet perinteisten menetelmien ja pilvipalveluiden v\u00e4lille hy\u00f6tyn\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta. Tutkielman alussa k\u00e4sitell\u00e4\u00e4n ensin ulkoistamisen ja IT:n ulkoistamisen k\u00e4sitteet, mitk\u00e4 ovat IT:n ulkoistamisen tarkoitus, tavoit- teet ja hy\u00f6dyt. Toisessa luvussa k\u00e4yd\u00e4\u00e4n l\u00e4pi perinteinen malli ja pilvipohjainen malli, sek\u00e4 tutustutaan kummankin mallin ohjelmistoratkaisuihin, ASP:en (Ap- plication Service Provider) ja SaaS:iin (Software as a Service). Lopuksi viel\u00e4 suo- ritetaan vertailu n\u00e4iden mallien ja niiden hy\u00f6tyjen v\u00e4lill\u00e4, sek\u00e4 suoritetaan lop- pupohdinta.\nTutkimuksen keskeisimpin\u00e4 tuloksina l\u00f6ydettiin t\u00e4rkeimm\u00e4t eroavaisuu- det hy\u00f6tyjen n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta pilvipalveluiden ja perinteisten ulkoistamismuoto- jen v\u00e4lill\u00e4. T\u00e4rkeimm\u00e4t hy\u00f6dyt, mit\u00e4 pilvipalvelut pystyv\u00e4t tarjoamaan perin- teisiin tapoihin n\u00e4hden, ovat parempi skaalautuvuus, kustannustehokkaat hin- noittelumallit, virtualisointi, sek\u00e4 pilvipalveluiden k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6noton helppous. Tutkimuksessa ei perehdytty tarkemmin pilvipalveluiden t\u00e4m\u00e4nhetkisiin on- gelmiin tai uhkiin, vaan tutkimus keskittyi nimenomaan niiden tarjoamiin hy\u00f6- tyihin ja kuinka yritykset ja organisaatiot pystyv\u00e4t hy\u00f6tym\u00e4\u00e4n niist\u00e4 verraten vanhempiin, perinteisiin IT:n ulkoistamistapoihin.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "Cloud computing has existed on the outsourcing markets for many years but the use of them has started to increase during the past few years. They have brought new benefits and opportunities for companies that the traditional out- sourcing methods can\u2019t offer. In this thesis, traditional outsourcing methods refer to all of the outsourcing methods that have existed before the cloud com- puting.\nThis thesis was executed as a literature review and its goal was to find dif- ferences between traditional outsourcing methods and cloud computing that matter from the benefits perspective. In the beginning of the thesis, is an intro- duction of the concepts of outsourcing and information technology outsourcing and what are the goals, benefits and the meaning of the information technology outsourcing. In the second chapter, the cloud computing outsourcing model and the traditional information technology outsourcing models are discussed. There is also a deeper search into both models\u2019 software solutions, ASP (Appli- cations Service Provider) and SaaS (Software as a Service). Lastly we compare these two models and their benefits and do the final discussion about the topic.\nThe main results of the thesis are the differences between the traditional outsourcing methods and cloud computing from the benefits perspective. The most important benefits that the cloud computing can offer, compared to the traditional outsourcing methods, are the better scalability, cost-efficient pricing models, virtualization and the easy implementation process of the cloud ser- vices.
