Viestinn\u00e4n parempi kohdentaminen olisi sek\u00e4 yksi-l\u00f6n ett\u00e4 tiedonjakelijan etu. Yksi tapa tehostaa viestint\u00e4\u00e4 on kontekstisidonnai-suus, jolloin viestint\u00e4 perustuu tilanteeseen, jossa k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4 kulloinkin on. Kon-tekstin tunnistamiseen k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n helposti saatavilla olevaa aika- ja paikkatietoa sek\u00e4 yksil\u00f6n mahdollisesti antamia muita tietoja, kuten demografisia tietoja tai kiinnostuksen kohteita. Kontekstitiedon ker\u00e4\u00e4minen pakottaa pohtimaan yksi-tyisyytt\u00e4. Mit\u00e4 tietoa k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4 on valmis antamaan itsest\u00e4\u00e4n ja kenelle? Voiko k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4 olla varma mihin h\u00e4nest\u00e4 ker\u00e4ttyj\u00e4 tietoja k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n?\nT\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa haluttiin selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00e4jien suhtautumista konteksti-tietoisiin \u00e4lypuhelinsovelluksiin, joiden tarkoituksena on tarjota k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4lle tietoa perustuen aika- ja paikkatietoon sek\u00e4 liikkeen tunnistukseen. Tutkimus suoritet-tiin internetiss\u00e4 julkaistuna kyselytutkimuksena ja se suunnattiin Suomessa asu-ville suomenkielentaitoisille henkil\u00f6ille. Kysely koostui taustatietokysymyksist\u00e4, skenaario-osuudesta ja teknologian hyv\u00e4ksymismalliin perustuvasta osiosta. Teknologian hyv\u00e4ksymismallista on olemassa lukuisia erilaisia johdannaisia ja eri tilanteisiin tarkoitettuja versioita, joiden pohjalta muodostettiin t\u00e4h\u00e4n tutki-mukseen sopiva malli. Skenaario-osuudessa vastaajat arvioivat kuinka hy\u00f6dyl-liseksi he kokivat m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4tyt \u00e4lypuhelinsovelluksen tarjoamat palvelut skenaarion mukaisessa tilanteessa.\nTulosten mukaan skenaariot koettiin p\u00e4\u00e4osin hy\u00f6dyllisiksi, mutta my\u00f6s so-velluksen hallittavuus koettiin t\u00e4rke\u00e4ksi k\u00e4ytt\u00f6todenn\u00e4k\u00f6isyyden kannalta. Taustatiedoilla ei ollut juurikaan vaikutusta skenaarioiden hy\u00f6dylliseksi koke-miseen. Mukautettu teknologian hyv\u00e4ksymismalli testattiin ja tulosten todettiin tukevan mallia. However, most of the infor-mation available is unnecessary in the individual's point of view and essential information easily get lost because of non-essential information. Better commu-nication should benefit both the individual and the service provider. One way to improve communication is contextuality, whereby the communication is based on a situation where the user happens to be. A context can be easily rec-ognized by location and time information provided by users device or other in-formation provided by the user, such as demographic information or points of interest. Gathering information forces us to consider privacy. What kind of in-formation the user is willing to give of themselves and to whom? Can the user be sure of what information is gathered and who is using that information?\nThe aim of this study was to find out how users experience the smartphone applications that provides information based on time and location, as well as de-tection of movement. The study was conducted as a survey published on the in-ternet and it was intended for Finnish speaking persons living in Finland. The questionnaire included background questions, scenario-based questions and questions based on technology acceptance model. There are a number of different derivatives considering Technology acceptance model. Most suitable models were chosen as the basis for the model used in this study. In scenario-based sec-tion respondents rated how useful they felt certain services offered by the smartphone application on the situation given by the scenario.\nThe results shows that the scenarios were considered mostly useful, but also manageability was considered important in terms of the probability of use. The background information did not have much effect on how useful scenarios were considered. The technology acceptance model used in this study was tested and the results were found to support the model. Application's perceived usefulness and ease of use affect the attitude towards technology, which together with the trust continues to affect the probability of using the application.
