Yh\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n painotetaan autenttisuutta kielten opiskelussa ja t\u00e4m\u00e4n tavoitteen\r\nkoulun ulkopuolinen kielten opiskelu t\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 usein paremmin kuin koulun oppitunnit. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 kandidaatin tutkielmassa tutkittiin\r\nsit\u00e4, miten suomalaiset lukion saksan opiskelijat k\u00e4ytt\u00e4v\u00e4t ja oppivat saksaa koulun ulkopuolella. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkittiin heid\u00e4n\r\nsyit\u00e4\u00e4n siihen, miksi he k\u00e4yttiv\u00e4t saksaa oppituntien ulkopuolella tai miksi eiv\u00e4t k\u00e4ytt\u00e4neet.\r\nAineistona tutkielmassa k\u00e4ytettiin kyselytutkimuksen vastauksia, jotka ker\u00e4ttiin alkuvuodesta 2016 keskisuomalaisesta lukiosta.\r\nKyselyyn osallistui kaksi eri saksan kielen ryhm\u00e4\u00e4. Oppilaat olivat joko toisen tai kolmannen vuoden opiskelijoita ja opiskelivat\r\nsaksaa A-kielen\u00e4. Kyselyyn vastanneita oppilaita oli yhteens\u00e4 17, joista tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 oli 10 ja poikia 7.\r\nTuloksista k\u00e4vi ilmi, ett\u00e4 kaikki kyselyyn osallistuneet lukiolaiset k\u00e4yttiv\u00e4t jollain tavalla saksan kielt\u00e4 my\u00f6s koulun opetuksen\r\nulkopuolella. Yleisimm\u00e4t tavat olivat kommunikointi muiden ihmisten kanssa saksaksi tai kielen k\u00e4ytt\u00e4minen matkustaessa,\r\nlukeminen sek\u00e4 elokuvien, Youtube -videoiden ja tv-sarjojen katseleminen. Vain harva vastasi pelaavansa pelej\u00e4 saksaksi eik\u00e4\r\nkovinkaan moni k\u00e4yt\u00e4 teknisi\u00e4 laitteita tai \u00e4lypuhelimen sovelluksia saksan kielell\u00e4, vaikka molemmilla on suuri rooli nuorten\r\nel\u00e4m\u00e4ss\u00e4 t\u00e4n\u00e4 p\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4.\r\nOppilaat oppivat saksaa koulun ulkopuolella laajentaakseen sanavarastoaan ja voidakseen kommunikoida paremmin saksaa\r\n\u00e4idinkielen\u00e4\u00e4n puhuvien henkil\u00f6iden kanssa. Odotettavissa oli, ett\u00e4 mm. ylioppilaskirjoitukset ovat yksi suuri syy koulun\r\nulkopuoliseen saksan opiskeluun, sill\u00e4 tutkittavat olivat kaikki lukiolaisia. Monille my\u00f6s matkustelu on syy oppia saksaa vapaaajalla,\r\njoka ei my\u00f6sk\u00e4\u00e4n ole kovin yll\u00e4tt\u00e4v\u00e4 tulos, sill\u00e4 yh\u00e4 useammat suomalaiset matkustelevat yh\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n.
