Metallopolymeerien ja niiden er\u00e4\u00e4n alaluokan, laajennettujen metalliatomiketjujen (EMAC), m\u00e4\u00e4ritelm\u00e4t esitell\u00e4\u00e4n sek\u00e4 niiden k\u00e4ytt\u00f6kohteista ja ominaisuuksista on esimerkkej\u00e4. Metallofiilinen vuorovaikutus metalliatomien attraktiivista vuorovaikutusta, jossa metallien elektronikuori on t\u00e4ynn\u00e4 (s2 tai d10) tai k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytyy, kuten se olisi t\u00e4ynn\u00e4 (d8). Se on voimakkuudeltaan korkeintaan vetysidoksen luokkaa. T\u00e4t\u00e4 metallofiilist\u00e4 vuorovaikutusta esiintyy my\u00f6s samanmerkkisesti varattujen metalli-ionien v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Yksi heterometallinen EMAC saatiin valmistettua. Se koostuu polymeerisest\u00e4 [Cu2(s-pyH4]n2n+:sta n:ll\u00e4 [ZnCl4]2\u2212-vasta-anioneita. The theoretical part of this thesis presents the definition, properties and applications of metallopolymers and its subclass extended metal atom chains (EMACs). The concept of metallophilic interaction is discussed. Unclarity between an interaction and a bond is also dissected. Critical view to tabulated values of van der Waals and covalent radii are discussed and emphasized that atoms are not spheres. More advances models like pixel and bond path methods to describe interaction are presented. Classification of EMACs with literature examples is also presented.\r\nHomo- and especially heterometallic EMACs were attempted to crystallize in the experimental part using group 11 metal salts, pyridine 4(1H) thione (s-pyH) as ambidentate ligand and other metal salts. One heterometallic EMAC, 1, was been able to crystallize. It was [Cu2(s-pyH)4]n2n+ with n [ZnCl4]2\u2212 counter anions. The metal atom string is pseudolinear. Coordination geometry of copper was twisted tetrahedral. The copper\u2013copper distances were 2.6241(6) and 2.6283(6) \u00c5.
