Tutkimuskysymyksen\u00e4 on: Millaisen prosessin\navulla asiakasymm\u00e4rryst\u00e4 voidaan kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 innovaatioprosessin alkup\u00e4\u00e4ss\u00e4. Tarkastelun\nkohteena on ollut asiakkaan osallistuminen ja rooli palveluiden kehityksess\u00e4 innovaatioprosessin\nalkup\u00e4\u00e4ss\u00e4. Tutkimuksessa on selvitetty konkreettisia keinoja asiakastiedon\nker\u00e4\u00e4miseen ja kuinka ymm\u00e4rrys sit\u00e4 kautta asiakkaista rakentuu.\nTutkimuksen kohteena oli terveydenhuoltoalalla toimiva uusi yritys ja tutkimus toteutettiin\nyhdess\u00e4 yrityksen kanssa k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en konstruktiivista tutkimusmenetelm\u00e4\u00e4. Tutkimuksen\naineisto ker\u00e4ttiin haastattelemalla kohdeyrityksen nelj\u00e4\u00e4 osakasta ja yht\u00e4 ulkopuolista\nkonsulttia. Haastattelumuotona oli avoin haastattelu ja aineisto analysoitiin\nsis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysi\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en.\nTulosten perusteella asiakkaat eiv\u00e4t osallistu suoraan palvelujen kehitykseen, joka\nviittaa siihen, ett\u00e4 yritys kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 palveluitaan suljetussa tilassa. Yritys on siirtym\u00e4ss\u00e4\nkohti ehdollisesti avointa tilaa, josta selke\u00e4n\u00e4 osoituksena on asiakkaiden sekundaarinen\nrooli. Yrityksess\u00e4 tiedostetaan asiakkaan mukanaolon merkitys innovaation menestymiselle,\nmutta keskittyminen eri teknologioiden tuottaman tiedon integraatioon ei mahdollista\nasiakkaiden osallistamista nykyisell\u00e4\u00e4n.\nPalveluiden kehitt\u00e4misess\u00e4 k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n organisaation sis\u00e4isi\u00e4 ja ulkoisia asiantuntijoita,\njotka samaistuvat asiakkaiden rooliin ja tuovat oman substanssiosaamisensa yrityksen\nk\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n. Tutkimuksessa on tunnistettu ker\u00e4ysmenetelm\u00e4, johon aiempi kirjallisuus\nei ole tiett\u00e4v\u00e4sti ottanut kantaa. Asiakastiedon ker\u00e4\u00e4miseen k\u00e4ytett\u00e4v\u00e4 kilometriryhm\u00e4\n-menetelm\u00e4 on innovatiivinen tapa lis\u00e4t\u00e4 ymm\u00e4rryst\u00e4 asiakkaista.\nTutkimuksen viitekehyksen\u00e4 toimivaa prosessiehdotusta on koeteltu ja parannettu\nempirian avulla ja tulosten perusteella tutkimuksessa on muodostettu uusi malli asiakasymm\u00e4rryksen\nrakentumisesta innovaatioprosessin alkup\u00e4\u00e4ss\u00e4. Subject of review has been customer participation and role at Front\nEnd of innovation process and service development with customers. In addition research\nhas examined concrete ways of collecting customer information and how understanding\nof customers is built through this.\nThe research was conducted with start-up company working in the healthcare sector\nand the research was implemented with constructive research method. Empirical\ndata was collected by interviewing the subject company\u2019s four shareholders and one an\nexternal consultant. Open ended interview was used and the data was analysed by using\ncontent analysis.\nBased on results customers are not directly involved into the Front End of innovation\nprocess of service development, which refers that the company is developing services\nin closed space. The company is moving towards the conditionally open space\nwhich is a clear indication of customer\u2019s secondary role. At this stage of service development\ncompany\u2019s internal and external experts identify themselves to the role of customer.\n\nReflecting the results with the previous research, we have identified a collection\nmethod that previous literature has not known to have addressed. The kilometre group\nmethod which is used for collecting customer information is an innovative way to work\nand increase the understanding of customer. Research framework for an effective process\nmodel has been tested and improved through empirical. As a result the research has\nestablished a new model of building the customer understanding at Front End of innovation\nprocess. The purpose of the model is to clarify the different stages and their content\nwhen building customer understanding.\nThe model suggests an easier way for an entrepreneur to understand and control\ncustomer understanding constructive process.
