Etenkin nuoret ottavat uudet teknologiat nopeasti k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n. Vieraisiin kieliin t\u00f6rm\u00e4\u00e4 arjessa my\u00f6s yh\u00e4 useammin ja helpommin. Arkioppimista eli informaalia oppimista ei usein kuitenkaan virallisesti huomioida, vaikka ihminen luultavasti oppii el\u00e4m\u00e4ns\u00e4 aikana enemm\u00e4n informaalisti kuin formaalisti, eli esimerkiksi koulussa.\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n pro gradu -tutkielman aihe on kielten informaali oppiminen. Tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 1) kielten opettajien k\u00e4sityksi\u00e4 informaalista oppimisesta kielten osalta ja ylip\u00e4\u00e4ns\u00e4 sek\u00e4 2) antavatko opettajat oppilailleen vinkkej\u00e4 kielten informaaliin oppimiseen ja mit\u00e4 n\u00e4m\u00e4 vinkit ovat. Kielten opettajat voivat vaikuttaa nuoren mielikuvaan kielist\u00e4 ja kielten oppimisesta. Opettajien tieto informaalista oppimisesta voisi saada my\u00f6s oppilaat tietoisiksi siit\u00e4 sek\u00e4 vaikuttaa sen tiedostamiseen ja arvostukseen yhteiskunnassa. T\u00e4t\u00e4 laadullista tutkimusta varten haastateltiin nelj\u00e4\u00e4 yl\u00e4koulun ja lukion saksan ja ruotsin opettajaa Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n seudulta. Teemahaastattelut analysoitiin teoriaohjaavan ja aineistol\u00e4ht\u00f6isen sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysin avulla.\nTutkimuksessa selvisi, ett\u00e4 informaalin oppimisen k\u00e4site on opettajille melko vieras ja sen merkityksest\u00e4 ollaan ep\u00e4varmoja, jotkin k\u00e4sitykset kuitenkin vastasivat k\u00e4sitteen m\u00e4\u00e4ritelm\u00e4\u00e4. Informaalin oppimisen ilmi\u00f6 taas on opettajille tuttu. Opettajien mukaan oppilas tai opiskelija oppii kielt\u00e4 koulun ulkopuolellakin. Opettajat nimesiv\u00e4t ja kuvailivat monia tilanteita ja niin sanottuja resursseja, joiden avulla kielt\u00e4 voisi oppia informaalisti. Ne vastasivat suurilta osin aiemman tutkimuksen tuloksia siit\u00e4, mitk\u00e4 informaalit tavat oppia kielt\u00e4 nuoret kokevat hy\u00f6dyllisiksi. My\u00f6s opettajien k\u00e4sitykset informaalin oppimisen hy\u00f6dyist\u00e4 ja haitoista nuoren kielitaitoon ja kielten opinnoille vastasivat pitk\u00e4lti tutkimustuloksia informaalin oppimisen vaikutuksista. Opettajat antavat my\u00f6s vinkkej\u00e4 oppilaille. Vaikuttaa silt\u00e4, ett\u00e4 audiovisuaalisista medioista ja internetin mahdollisuuksista vinkataan eniten. Musiikkia k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n tunneilla my\u00f6s melko usein. Painetuista medioista vinkataan harvemmin. Mahdollisuuksista p\u00e4\u00e4st\u00e4 kohdekielisille alueille kerrottiin ja niill\u00e4 oli my\u00f6s k\u00e4yty.
