Lis\u00e4ksi tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tarkastella, millaisia oppilaan liikunnallista el\u00e4m\u00e4ntapaa tukevia keinoja liikunnanopettajaopiskelijoilla on tiedossa. Aineisto koostui 66 Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n ylipiston liikunnanopettajaopiskelijan vastauksesta. Tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin teorial\u00e4ht\u00f6isell\u00e4 aineistoanalyysill\u00e4 sek\u00e4 kvantifioinnilla. \r\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen mukaan liikunnanopettajan rooli oppilaan liikunnallisen el\u00e4m\u00e4ntavan ja koulun liikunnallisen toimintakulttuurin edist\u00e4j\u00e4n\u00e4 muodostui nelj\u00e4st\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4roolista, jotka olivat laadukkaiden liikuntatuntien toteuttaja, koululiikunnan edist\u00e4j\u00e4, koulun toimijoiden osallistaja ja koulun ulkopuolisten toimijoiden osallistaja. Liikunnanopettajan rooli yhteisty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4n\u00e4 linkittyi kaikkiin rooleihin. Yhteisty\u00f6 n\u00e4htiin t\u00e4rke\u00e4n\u00e4 keinona opettaa ja ohjata oppilas liikunnalliseen el\u00e4m\u00e4ntapaan. Tutkimus antoi viitteit\u00e4 siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 opintojen ensimm\u00e4isin\u00e4 vuosina liikunnanopettajaopiskelijat eiv\u00e4t viel\u00e4 tiedosta oppilaan osallisuuden merkityst\u00e4 liikunnalliselle el\u00e4m\u00e4ntavalle tai liikunnallisen toimintakulttuurin rakentumiselle. \r\nLiikunnanopettajakoulutuksessa tarvitaan kursseja, joissa opiskelijat saavat k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n kokemusta koulun toimintakulttuurin liikunnallistamisesta sek\u00e4 liikunnanopettajan roolista siin\u00e4. Olisi t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4, ett\u00e4 koulutuksen aikana liikunnanopettajaopiskelijat voivat harjoitella yhteisty\u00f6t\u00e4 eri aineenopettajien kanssa ja saada kokemusta esimerkiksi liikunnan integroinnista muihin oppiaineisiin. The participants were 66 physical and health education preservice teachers at the University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4. The data consisted of essays and was analysed using a qualitative content analysis and quantification. \r\nResults show that PE preservice teachers see PE teachers working in four major roles: as a professional providing quality PE lessons, as a promoter of active school day, and as a person who activates school personnel and also external operators. The role of co-operator included to all four roles. Co-operation was also seen as an important way of enhancing pupils\u2019 active and healthy lifestyle and active school days. According to this study it seems that the 1st and 2nd year PE preservice teachers have a lack of knowledge when it comes to the role of participation in promoting pupils\u2019 active life style and schools\u2019 physically active atmosphere. \r\nPETE programs should include courses where the students can experience how to build physically active school and what kind of roles PE teachers are expected to adopt. It is important that during the teacher education, the preservice teacher can practice co-operation with other subject preservice teachers and gain experience in, for example integrating sports into other school subjects.
