N\u00e4iden lis\u00e4ksi fyysinen aktiivisuus on v\u00e4hentynyt. Lapsuusvuosina motoriset perustaidot ovat 3\u201312-vuotiailla lapsilla viel\u00e4 kehittym\u00e4ss\u00e4, joten n\u00e4iden taitojen kehitt\u00e4miseen tulisi kiinnitt\u00e4\u00e4 huomiota. Motoristen perustaitojen oppiminen voisi motivoida lapsia liikkumaan ja siten v\u00e4hent\u00e4\u00e4 lasten ylipainoisuutta. Kasvattajien olisi t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 tiedostaa millaisen liikuntaymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n he lapsille tarjoavat, sill\u00e4 ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6 on yksi taidon oppimiseen vaikuttavista tekij\u00f6ist\u00e4. Fyysisen aktiivisuuden ja motoristen perustaitojen suhteen oletetaan vahvistuvan lapsen kasvaessa. Hyv\u00e4t motoriset taidot omaavalla lapsella on suurempi todenn\u00e4k\u00f6isyys olla fyysisesti aktiivinen kuin motorisesti v\u00e4hemm\u00e4n taitavilla lapsilla. Opittujen taitojen synnytt\u00e4m\u00e4 innostus liikuntaan voisi v\u00e4hent\u00e4\u00e4 lasten ylipainoisuutta sek\u00e4 parantaa heid\u00e4n elinik\u00e4ist\u00e4 liikunta-aktiivisuutta.\n\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 erilaisissa liikuntaymp\u00e4rist\u00f6iss\u00e4 ulkoilevien lasten motoristen perustaitojen kehityst\u00e4. Tutkimuksessa vertailtiin kahden helsinkil\u00e4isen esikouluryhm\u00e4n kehityst\u00e4 kuuden kuukauden aikana. Toinen esikouluryhm\u00e4 (A) liikkui p\u00e4ivitt\u00e4in luonnollisessa liikuntaymp\u00e4rist\u00f6ss\u00e4 eli mets\u00e4ss\u00e4. Toinen esikouluryhm\u00e4 (B) liikkui p\u00e4ivitt\u00e4in rakennetussa liikuntaymp\u00e4rist\u00f6ss\u00e4, joka oli tutkimuksessa p\u00e4iv\u00e4kodin oma piha. N\u00e4iden ryhmien motorista kehityst\u00e4 vertailtiin syksyn ja kev\u00e4\u00e4n mittausten v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Ryhm\u00e4vertailun lis\u00e4ksi esikouluryhmist\u00e4 valittiin kuusi lasta yksil\u00f6llisen kehityksen tarkkailuun. Tutkimukseen osallistui 34 esikoululaista.\n\nTutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin lokakuussa 2014 sek\u00e4 maalis-huhtikuussa 2015 APM-testist\u00f6ll\u00e4, joka sis\u00e4lsi 12 motorisen perustaidon testiosiota. Aineiston kuvailussa k\u00e4ytettiin keskiarvoja, keskihajontoja sek\u00e4 prosenttiosuuksia. Kahden ryhm\u00e4n keskiarvojen vertailuun k\u00e4ytettiin yksisuuntaista varianssianalyysi\u00e4. L\u00e4ht\u00f6tilanne-eroa tarkasteltiin t-testin avulla. Ryhmien sis\u00e4isen kehityksen seuraamiseen seurantamittauksissa k\u00e4ytettiin toistettujen mittausten ANOVA-testi\u00e4. \n\nTutkimuksen tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 erilaisissa liikuntaymp\u00e4rist\u00f6iss\u00e4 ulkoilevilla lapsilla kehittyiv\u00e4t erilaiset motoriset perustaidot. Ryhm\u00e4 A, kehittyi tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4sti ryhm\u00e4 B:t\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n tasajaloin hyppelyss\u00e4 sivuttain (f=15,535; p<,001), heitto-kiinniottoyhdistelm\u00e4ss\u00e4 (f=9,703; p=,004) sek\u00e4 potkaisemisessa (f=7,573; p=,010). Ryhm\u00e4 B kehittyi tilastollisesti ryhm\u00e4 A:ta enemm\u00e4n tasaponnistuksessa eteenp\u00e4in (f=18,012; p<,001), laukassa (f=24,238; p<,001) sek\u00e4 havaintomotorisissa taidoissa (f=16,268; p<,001). Yksil\u00f6llisess\u00e4 tarkastelussa nelj\u00e4 lasta paransi tuloksiaan ja kahden lapset tulokset huononivat huomattavasti. Tarkasteltavissa yksil\u00f6llisen kehityksen taidoissa eniten kehityst\u00e4 tapahtui hyppelyss\u00e4 ja tasaponnistushypyss\u00e4 eteenp\u00e4in molempien ryhmien lapsilla. Eniten yksil\u00f6llisess\u00e4 tarkastelussa tulokset laskivat k\u00e4velyss\u00e4 ja hyppelyss\u00e4.\n\nV\u00e4est\u00f6n fyysisen kunnon heikkeneminen voidaan katsoa kansanterveyden uhaksi. Lapsesta asti saadut positiiviset liikuntakokemukset voisivat auttaa yksil\u00f6it\u00e4 liikkumaan tulevaisuudessakin. T\u00e4m\u00e4 taas voisi tapahtua haastamalla ja kehitt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 lasten ja nuorten motorisia perustaitoja jo varhaisessa vaiheessa. Moreover the lack of physical activity has increased. It would be important to develop fundamental motor skills because these skills advance fast on 3\u201312-year old children. Learning fundamental motor skills could motivate children to be more physically active and decrease obesity. Because environment has an impact on learning the educators should be conscious of the physical exercise environment they offer for children. The association between physical activity and fundamental motor skills is assumed to strengthen as child grows. Child who possesses good motor skills is more likely going to be physically active than child who possesses worse motor skills. By learning new skills children could be more physically active and this could decrease obesity and lead to lifelong physical activity.\n\nThe purpose of this study was to find out children's motor skill development in two preschools with different outdoor facilities. The developments of two preschool groups were compared in six month period. Preschool group A spent time in natural physical exercise environment in forest area every day. Preschool group B spent time in build physical exercise environment in preschools own yard every day. The development of these two groups was compared between fall and spring. Six children were chosen to the individual observation. 34 children participated in the study.\n\nThe data were collected between October 2014 and March-April 2015 with APM-battery which consist 12 different test items for fundamental motor skills. Means, standard deviations and percentages were used to describe the data. One way ANOVA-test was used to compare the means of the two groups. T-test was used to compare the starting state difference of the groups. In the follow-up measurements repeated measures ANOVA-test was used to follow the inner development in the group. \n\nThe results showed that children who spend time in different outdoor facilities develop different motor skills. Group A developed significantly more in jumping sideways (f=15,535; p<,001), throwing and catching combination (f=9,703; p=,004) and kicking (f=7,573; p=,010). Group B developed significantly more in standing broad jump (f=18,012; p<,001), galloping (f=24,238; p<,001) and perceptual-motor skills (f=16,268; p<,001). Four children improved their results and two children had worse results in the individual observation. The children who were chosen to the individual observation improved most in jumping sideways and in standing broad jump. The children worsen their results mostly in walking and jumping sideways. \n\nDecreasing physical condition of population can be seen as a threat to the public health. Positive physical exercise experiences got as a child could help individuals to be physically active in the future. This could happen by challenging and developing children and youth fundamental motor skills in an early stage.
