Maksimaalista hapenottokyky\u00e4 on yritetty arvioida monilla eri menetelmill\u00e4.\r\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n Pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 voidaanko\r\nbioimpedanssianalyysin avulla ennustaa maksimaalista hapenottoa nuorilla vaihtelevan\r\nkuntotaustan omaavilla varusmiehill\u00e4. Lis\u00e4ksi haluttiin my\u00f6s selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 voidaanko nonexercise-menetelmiss\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettyjen muuttujien kuten fyysisen aktiivisuuden, BMI:n,\r\nkehon rasvaprosentin ja painon avulla parantaa bioimpedanssin avulla tehdyn\r\nmaksimaalisen hapenoton arvion tarkkuutta.\r\n\r\nTutkimukseen osallistui 59 alokasta (keski-ik\u00e4 19.1 \u00b1 0.3 vuotta) Kainuun Prikaatin\r\nviestikomppanian tammikuun 2006 saapumiser\u00e4st\u00e4. Tutkittavilta kartoitettiin\r\nkyselytutkimuksella oma arvio fyysisest\u00e4 aktiivisuudesta kahdeksanportaisella\r\nasteikolla, mitattiin maksimaalinen hapenotto suoralla menetelm\u00e4ll\u00e4 ja heille tehtiin\r\nbioimpedanssianalyysi. Mittaukset suoritettiin alokaskauden alussa yhden viikon\r\naikana.\r\n\r\nBioimpedanssimittaus suoritettiin kuudella eri taajuudella, joista 500 kHz ja 1 MHz\r\nosoittautuivat tilastollisesti merkitseviksi korrelaatioanalyysiss\u00e4 maksimaalisen\r\nhapenoton kanssa (p<0.05). Bioimpedanssianalyysin avulla mitatulla rasvaprosentilla ja fyysisen aktiivisuuden arviolla pystyttiin ennustamaan maksimaalista hapenottoa 70.6 prosentin selitysasteella. Muilla lis\u00e4mittaustuloksilla ei ollut ennustearvoa parantavaa vaikutusta. Rasvaprosentti ja kehon bioimpedanssi ovat toisistaan riippuvaisia suureita, mik\u00e4 sulki bioimpedanssin pois lopullisesta ennustemallista. \r\n\r\nTutkimustuloksissa keskim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4inen maksimaalinen hapenottotulos oli 43 ml/kg/min,\r\nmik\u00e4 on alle ik\u00e4luokan keskim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4iseksi arvioidun tulostason. Maksimaalinen\r\nhapenotto poikkesi tutkittavilla enemm\u00e4n keskim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4isest\u00e4 kuin fyysisen aktiivisuuden\r\nkeskiarvo. T\u00e4m\u00e4 vaikeutti tutkimustulosten yleist\u00e4mist\u00e4 v\u00e4est\u00f6tasolle.\r\n\r\nYhteenvetona voidaan todeta, ettei tutkimusten tulosten perusteella voida osoittaa\r\nbioimpedanssianalyysin yksin\u00e4\u00e4n tuovan apua maksimaalisen hapenoton VO2max\r\narviointiin ainakaan fyysiselt\u00e4 aktiivisuudeltaan vaihtelevassa v\u00e4est\u00f6ss\u00e4.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "ABSTRACT\r\nMaximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) is seen as the most significant measurement of\r\nhuman endurance capacity. VO2max has been predicted with various methods. The\r\npurpose of this study was to evaluate if VO2max could be predicted with the help of\r\nbioimpedance analysis from young male conscripts with versatile physical activity\r\nbackgrounds. Also the aim was to examine if non-exercise model variables like physical activity, BMI, percentage body fat or body weight could improve the estimate of VO2max received by bioimpedance analysis.\r\n\r\nFiftynine conscripts (age 19.1 \u00b1 0.3 years) from Kainuu Pricade Signal Corps January\r\n2006 class participated in this study. The participants evaluated their own physical\r\nactivity with Jackson\u2019s assessment by a questionnaire and their maximal oxygen uptake\r\nwas measured with direct test. Also the bioimpedance analysis was made. The study\r\nwas made early during basic training period within one week. \r\n\r\nBioimpedance analyses were performed to all participants with six frequencies, and\r\nresults with frequencies 500 kHz and 1 MHz were proven to correlate significantly with\r\nVO2max (p<0.05). Percentage body fat received from bioimpenance analysis and the\r\nphysical activity assessment score could predict VO2max up to 70.6 percent. Other\r\nmeasured values did not enhance the accuracy of the prediction. Bioimpedance as a\r\nscore and the bioimpedance derived physical variables are dependent from each other\r\nand consecuently they excluded the bioimpedance from the final prediction equation of\r\nVO2max.\r\n\r\nThe results showed mean VO2max to be 43 ml/kg/min, which is lower than the\r\nestimated average level in that agegroup. VO2max deviated more from the average than\r\nthe assessed physical activity score.
