Liikuntapedagogiikan pro gradu \u2013tutkielma. 57 s, 2 liitett\u00e4. \r\n\r\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 liikunnanopettajaksi opiskelevien temperamenttipiirteit\u00e4 ja niiden voimakkuutta. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkimuksessa oli tavoitteena selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, eroavatko mies- ja naisopiskelijoiden temperamenttipiirteet toisistaan ja onko opintojen suoritusvaiheella merkityst\u00e4 temperamenttipiirteiden ilmenemiseen ja voimakkuuteen. Jokainen tutkimukseen osallistuja sai halutessaan omista vastauksista muodostuneen henkil\u00f6kohtaisen temperamenttiprofiilin. Tutkimukseen osallistuivat Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston liikuntatieteellisen tiedekunnan liikuntapedagogiikkaa p\u00e4\u00e4aineena opiskelevat opiskelijat. Tutkimukseen osallistui 141 opiskelijaa, joista 80 (57%) oli naisia ja 61 (43%) miehi\u00e4. Vastaajat koostuivat 1. \u2013 6. vuosikurssin opiskelijoista. \r\n\r\nTemperamentin tarkastelussa k\u00e4ytettiin Rothbarin (1981) temperamenttiteoriaa, jossa temperamentti koostuu kolmestatoista temperamenttipiirteest\u00e4. Tutkimuksessa temperamenttipiirteit\u00e4 tarkasteltiin temperamentin itsearviointiin tarkoitetulla suomenkielisell\u00e4 Adult Temperament Questionnaire short form \u2013 mittarilla (ATQ) (Derryberry & Rothbart 1988) (Liite 1). Mittarissa temperamenttipiirteet saivat arvoja 1-7. Mittarin luotettavuutta tarkasteltiin Cronbachin alfakertoimilla, jotka vaihtelivat t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa 0,50\u20130,84 v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Tuloksia tarkasteltiin keskiarvojen ja \u2013 hajontojen avulla, riippumattomien otosten t-testill\u00e4 ja Pearsonin tulomomenttikorrelaatiokertoimilla.\r\n\r\nLiikunnanopettajiksi opiskelevien temperamenttipiirteist\u00e4 korkeimpia arvoja saivat sosiaalisuus (5,64) ja my\u00f6nteisten tunteiden kokeminen (5,44). Temperamenttipiirteiden yl\u00e4luokista voimakkain oli ulosp\u00e4insuuntautuneisuus (5,03). Pienimm\u00e4t arvot ilmeniv\u00e4t temperamenttipiirteist\u00e4 pelk\u00e4\u00e4misess\u00e4 (3,39) ja ep\u00e4mukavuuden tunteessa (3,48) sek\u00e4 temperamenttipiirteiden yl\u00e4luokassa negatiivinen affektiivisuus (3,63). Tuloksissa havaittiin selvi\u00e4 yksil\u00f6llisi\u00e4 eroja. Sukupuolten v\u00e4lill\u00e4 merkitsevi\u00e4 eroja temperamenttipiirteiss\u00e4 l\u00f6ytyi seuraavasti: miehet saivat korkeampia arvoja tunteiden hallinnassa ja viehtymyksess\u00e4 voimakkaisiin \u00e4rsykkeisiin, kun taas naiset saivat korkeampia arvoja pelk\u00e4\u00e4misess\u00e4, turhautumisessa, surullisuudessa ja toiminnan hallinnassa. Temperamenttipiirteiden yl\u00e4luokista negatiivisessa affektiivisuudessa naiset saivat merkitsev\u00e4sti korkeampia arvoja kuin miehet. Opintojen suoritusvaiheella oli merkitsev\u00e4 yhteys vain yhteen temperamenttipiirteeseen, toiminnan hallintaan, siten ett\u00e4 nuoremmilla opiskelijoilla toiminnan hallinta oli korkeampaa kuin vanhemmilla opiskelijoilla. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tulokset tukevat aikaisempaa tutkimusta opettajaksi opiskelevien sosiaalisuudesta ja ulosp\u00e4insuuntautuneisuudesta. Furthermore, the aim was to research whether the temperament traits of female and male physical education students differ from one another. Also, whether the phase of the studies has any significance in appearance and magnitude of temperament traits. All the participants were given their own individual temperament profile, if they wanted. The sample of this research consisted of the students who are studying physical education pedagogy as their major in The Department of Sport Sciences at University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4. The study consisted of 141 students of which 80 (57%) were female and 61 (43%) were male. The respondents consisted of students from classes 1st to 6th. \r\n\r\nRothbar\u2019s (1981) temperament theory, which consists of thirteen temperament traits, was used to examine temperament. This research examined temperament traits with a Finnish Adult Questionnaire short form-meter (ATQ) (Derryberry & Rothbart 1988) (Appendix 1) which is intended for self-evaluation. In the meter, temperament traits got valued from 1 to 7. The reliability of the meter was examined with Cronbach\u2019s alphas, which varied between 0.50-0.84. The results were analyzed with means and standard deviation, independent samples T-test and Pearson\u2019s product-moment correlation coefficient. \r\n\r\nSociability (5.64) and Positive affect (5.44) as temperament traits got valued the most within the students of physical education teachers. Extraversion/Surgency (5.03) was the strongest of the upper class temperament traits. The lowest values of the temperament traits appeared in Fear (3.39) and Discomfort (3.48), and in the upper class of temperament traits there was Negative affect (3.63). There appeared significant individual differences in the results. Between genders there appeared significant differences of temperament traits in the following way: male participants got higher values in Inhibitory control and High intensity pleasure. Whereas female participants got higher values in Fear, Frustration, Sadness and Activation control. Of the upper class temperament traits, female participants got significantly higher values than male participants in Negative affect. The phase of the studies had a significant correlation to only one temperament trait, which was Activation control. In the way that with younger students, Activation control was higher than with older students. The results of this study support an earlier research about teacher students' Sociability and Extraversion.
