Vaikka luova opettaminen on noussut yhdeksi luovuutta ja koulumaailmaa koskevan\r\nkeskustelun aiheista, ei sit\u00e4 ole viel\u00e4 tutkittu paljoa, eik\u00e4 termille ole yleisesti hyv\u00e4ksytty\u00e4\r\nm\u00e4\u00e4ritelm\u00e4\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoitus olikin toimia pohjana muille luovaa opettamista\r\nkoskeville tutkimuksille. Tutkimuksen p\u00e4\u00e4tavoitteina oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 kuinka suomalaiset englannin\r\nopettajat itse m\u00e4\u00e4rittelev\u00e4t luovan opettamisen, millaisia asenteita heill\u00e4 on luovaa opettamista\r\nkohtaan ja ovatko he omasta mielest\u00e4\u00e4n luovia opettajia.\r\nTutkimus toteutettiin s\u00e4hk\u00f6isen\u00e4 kyselyn\u00e4, joka sis\u00e4lsi yhdeks\u00e4n avointa kysymyst\u00e4. Vastauksia tuli\r\neri puolilta Suomea yhteens\u00e4 28 kappaletta. P\u00e4\u00e4metodina vastausten analysoinnissa toimi\r\nkvalitatiivinen sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysi. Edell\u00e4 mainittujen p\u00e4\u00e4teemojen lis\u00e4ksi vastaajilta kysyttiin miten he\r\nm\u00e4\u00e4rittelev\u00e4t luovan opettajan, mitk\u00e4 tekij\u00e4t vaikuttavat opettajan luovuuteen, miten kokemus\r\nvaikuttaa luovaan opettamiseen ja voiko luovaa opettamista opettaa.\r\nTutkimukseen osallistuneet opettajat kokivat luovan opettamisen t\u00e4rkeimmiksi m\u00e4\u00e4ritteleviksi\r\npiirteiksi monipuolisuuden, vaihtelevuuden ja oppilaskeskeisen opettamisen. Kyselyyn vastanneista\r\nopettajista 60 prosenttia koki olevansa luovia opettajia. 71 prosenttia vastanneista sanoi luovan\r\nopettamisen vaativan ylim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4ist\u00e4 ty\u00f6t\u00e4. Heist\u00e4 osa kuitenkin ilmaisi luovalla opettamisella olevan\r\nsellaisia positiivisia vaikutuksia mitk\u00e4 tekev\u00e4t siit\u00e4 ylim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4isen ty\u00f6n arvoisen. Lis\u00e4ksi 18 prosenttia\r\nvastaajista koki ettei luova opettaminen vaadi lainkaan ylim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4ist\u00e4 ty\u00f6t\u00e4.
