Etenkin suurten ik\u00e4luokkien ik\u00e4\u00e4ntymisen my\u00f6t\u00e4 yhteiskunnalle aiheutuu suuria kustannuksia sosiaali- ja terveyspalveluille. T\u00e4m\u00e4n vuoksi tarvitaan keinoja ennaltaehk\u00e4ist\u00e4 ik\u00e4\u00e4ntyvien fysiologisia muutoksia sek\u00e4 sairauksia ja parantamaan heid\u00e4n el\u00e4m\u00e4nlaatuaan. Oikealla liikunnalla voidaan saavuttaa mittavia tuloksia ik\u00e4\u00e4ntyneidenkin terveydess\u00e4. Plyometrinen harjoittelu on nopeusvoimaharjoittelua, jonka on osoitettu kasvattavan lihaksen maksimaalista voimaa, tehoa ja lis\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4n nopeutta. \r\n\r\nFyysisenharjoittelun tarkoituksena on kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 elimist\u00f6n suorituskyky\u00e4 antamalla sille \u00e4rsykkeit\u00e4 kuormituksella. T\u00e4t\u00e4 harjoitusvaikutusta kutsutaan superkompensaatioksi. Jos kuormitus on oikeanlainen, adaptaatio johtaa suorituskyvyn nousuun palautumisen j\u00e4lkeen. Yksitt\u00e4isell\u00e4 kuormituksella on tarkoitus rikkoa elimist\u00f6n homeostaasia eli tasapainotilaa, jolloin ilmenee v\u00e4symist\u00e4 sek\u00e4 suorituskyky tilap\u00e4isesti laskee. Plyometrisen akuutin kuormituksen on kuitenkin havaittu parantavan suorituskyky\u00e4 koska sen oletetaan viritt\u00e4v\u00e4n hermostoa tulevaan kuormitukseen. Riippuen akuutin kuormituksen tavasta, kestosta ja intensiteetist\u00e4 saadaan siis erilaiset kuormitusvasteet. Yleisesti positiiviset ilmi\u00f6t tulevat heti lyhyen suorituksen j\u00e4lkeen. Pitk\u00e4kestoisena plyometrinen kuormitus aiheuttaa normaalia suorituskyvyn laskua, lihasvaurioita sek\u00e4 tulehdusta elimist\u00f6ss\u00e4.\r\n\r\nT\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin plyometrisen v\u00e4sytyskuormituksen akuutteja fysiologisia ja biomekaanisia vasteita nuorilla ja ik\u00e4\u00e4ntyneill\u00e4 sek\u00e4 vertailtiin vasteita ik\u00e4ryhmien v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Tutkimukseen osallistui 19 vapaaehtoista (9 nuorta ja 10 ik\u00e4\u00e4ntynytt\u00e4) naista. Fysiologisia vasteita kuten immuniteettiin vaikuttavia markkereita sek\u00e4 perusverenkuva tutkittiin verin\u00e4ytteist\u00e4 ennen kuormitusta, heti sek\u00e4 2 tuntia v\u00e4sytyskuormituksen j\u00e4lkeen. Kyykky- ja pudotushypyist\u00e4 tutkittiin voimantuottoa ennen ja j\u00e4lkeen v\u00e4sytyskuormituksen.\r\n\r\nKuormitus aiheutti suurimmalta osin melko samankaltaiset fysiologiset vasteet molemmilla ik\u00e4ryhmill\u00e4. Valkosolut nousivat mutta palautuivat 2 tunnin kuluessa l\u00e4helle lepotasoa. Lis\u00e4ksi IL-6 sek\u00e4 kreatiinikinaasi pitoisuudet nousivat kuormituksesta ja olivat koholla viel\u00e4 2 tunnin j\u00e4lkeen. Kortisoli laski kuormituksesta ja jatkoi laskuaan viel\u00e4 2 tuntia kuormituksen j\u00e4lkeen. Kummallakaan ryhm\u00e4ll\u00e4 ei tapahtunut merkitt\u00e4vi\u00e4 biomekaanisia muutoksia staattisen kyykkyhypyn tai pudotushypyn voimantuotossa v\u00e4sytyskuormituksen johdosta. N\u00e4ytt\u00e4isi silt\u00e4, ettei t\u00e4m\u00e4n kaltainen v\u00e4sytyskuormitus olisi liian kovatehoista ik\u00e4\u00e4ntyneille eik\u00e4 sill\u00e4 olisi negatiivista vaikutusta immuniteettiin kertasuorituksena. Tutkimuksen perusteella plyometrist\u00e4 kuormitusta voisi suositella harjoittelumuodoksi my\u00f6s ik\u00e4\u00e4ntyneille. Especially the aging of the large age groups creates massive costs to the society in the health and social services sector. Thus, there is a need to find ways to prevent the physiological changes of aging and diseases and to improve the quality of life of elderly people. Significant improvement in the health of older people can be achieved with appropriate physical activity. Plyometric training is explosive strength training, which has been shown to increase the maximal muscle strength and power and to increase speed. These positive results are often shown immediately after the acute training session. On the other hand, long-lasting plyometric load has been shown to cause muscle damage and inflammation in the body and a reduction in performance. \r\n\r\nThe purpose of physical training is to develop performance by giving it a stimulus to by loading. This training effect is called supercompensation. If the load is correct, adaptation leads to an increase in performance after recovery. A single load is intended to break homeostasis of the body when the fatigue and performance temporarily decreases. However, plyometric acute stress has been found to improve performance because it is assumed to excitation of the nervous system the loads. Depending on the type, duration and intensity of the load, thus obtaining the various load responses. In general, the positive phenomena come immediately after a short run. Long-lasting plyometric load causes the normal decline in performance, muscle damage and inflammation in the body.\r\n\r\nThe purpose of this study was to examine the physiological and biomechanical responses of an acute plyometric training session. The study involved 19 volunteers (9 young and 10 elderly women). Physiological responses, such as immune markers, were studied in blood samples before the acute plyometric training session, immediately after the session, and after 2 hours. As muscle strength variables, squat and drop jumps were performed before and after the acute training to study maximal production.\r\n\r\nThe acute plyometric training session induced similar physiological responses in both age groups. White blood cell levels increased but returned to near rest level after 2 hours. In addition, IL-6 and creatine kinase levels increased and were elevated after 2 hours. Cortisol levels decreased and continued to fall for 2 hours after the load. There were no significant changes in the squat or drop jump power generation due to fatigue loading in either group. It would seem that this kind of fatigue loading is not too hard for older people and does not have a negative effect on immune system. Based on the findings of this research, it would appear that acute plyometric load can be recommended also for the elderly.
