Liikuntabiologian laitos, Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopisto, Valmennus- ja testausopin Pro gradu-tutkielma, 47 s.\r\n\r\nVenyttelyn kestoja on tutkittu jonkin verran, mutta spesifi\u00e4 tutkimusta joukkuevoimisteli-joille ei ole aiemmin tehty. Tehokkaan harjoittelun kannalta on mielenkiintoista tiet\u00e4\u00e4, mik\u00e4 on optimaalisin kesto yhdelle venytykselle. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, onko pitk\u00e4 ja lyhyt staattinen liikkuvuusharjoittelu yht\u00e4 tehokkaita tapoja lis\u00e4t\u00e4 liikkuvuutta joukkuevoimistelijoilla.\r\n\r\nTutkimukseen osallistui 20 joukkuevoimistelijaa i\u00e4lt\u00e4\u00e4n 10\u201311 \u2013vuotta. Koehenkil\u00f6ist\u00e4 10 teki lyhytt\u00e4 liikkuvuusharjoittelua (LYHYT) ja 10 pitk\u00e4\u00e4 liikkuvuusharjoittelua (PITK\u00c4) osana harjoitusohjelmaansa yhdeks\u00e4n kuukauden ajan. Lyhyen liikkuvuusharjoittelun venytykset kestiv\u00e4t maksimissaan 45 sekuntia ja pitk\u00e4n liikkuvuusharjoittelun venytykset olivat v\u00e4hint\u00e4\u00e4n minuutin ja 30 sekuntia. Liikkuvuutta testattiin Suomen voimisteluliitto Svolin liikkuvuustestist\u00f6ll\u00e4, johon kuuluu 14 erilaista venytysliikett\u00e4. Testit tehtiin nelj\u00e4 kertaa yhdeks\u00e4n kuukauden aikana.\r\n\r\nLYHYT -ryhm\u00e4 paransi tuloksiaan yht\u00e4 liikett\u00e4 lukuun ottamatta ja PITK\u00c4 -ryhm\u00e4 paransi vain seitsem\u00e4\u00e4 liikett\u00e4 14:st\u00e4. LYHYT -ryhm\u00e4n tulosten parannukset olivat PITK\u00c4- ryhm\u00e4\u00e4 parempia kaikissa yht\u00e4 liikett\u00e4 lukuun ottamatta kaikissa testiliikkeiss\u00e4. Tilastollisesti merkitsevi\u00e4 muutoksia LYHYT -ryhm\u00e4ll\u00e4 oli kahdessa eri liikkeess\u00e4 ja PITK\u00c4-ryhm\u00e4ll\u00e4 yhdess\u00e4 liikkeess\u00e4.\r\n\r\nJohtop\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksen\u00e4 voitaneen todeta tutkimukseen ja teoriaan nojaten, ett\u00e4 lyhyt staattinen liikkuvuusharjoittelu on v\u00e4hint\u00e4\u00e4n yht\u00e4 tehokasta, kuin pitk\u00e4 staattinen liikkuvuusharjoittelu. Differences of the short term and long term flexibility exercises in increasing flexibility in aesthetic group gymnastics. Department of Biology of Physical Activity, University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, Master\u2019s Thesis of Science of coaching and fitness testing, 47 p.\r\n\r\nDuration of stretching has been studied to some extent, but specific scientific study for the aesthetic group gymnastics has not been done. Regarding optimal training stimulus it is interesting to know, what is the optimum duration for one stretching exercise. The aim of this study was to clarify whether the short term or long term static exercise is equally effective way to increase flexibility.\r\n\r\nTwenty aesthetic group gymnastics participated to this study. Age varied from 10-11 years. Ten of them made short (SHORT) and 10 long term flexibility exercises (LONG) for 9 months as part of their training. Short term stretching exercise had maximum duration of 45 sec and long term exercise lasted at least 1 min and 30 sec. Finnish gymnastic association Svoli flexibility test battery was used to test the flexibility. The tests included 14 different stretching movements. Flexibility was tested four times a 9 months.\r\n\r\nSHORT term group improved their results except for one movement. LONG term group improved their results only in 7 out of 14 movements. The improvements of the results of SHORT term team compared to LONG term team was better all results except in one test movements. Statistically significant changes were found in two test movements in SHORT term team and one in LONG term team.\r\n\r\nAs a conclusion, based on the theory and this study, it can be stated that the short term static flexibility exercise is at least as effective as long term exercise.
