Integrointi auttaa tutkitusti muodostamaan opetettavista sis\u00e4ll\u00f6ist\u00e4 arjessa sovellettavia merkityksellisi\u00e4 kokonaisuuksia. T\u00e4ll\u00f6in opetus valmentaa opiskelijaa paremmin el\u00e4m\u00e4ss\u00e4 tarvittaviin taitoihin. Integrointi vaatii opettajilta k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6ss\u00e4 paljon, ja kahden aineen sis\u00e4lt\u00f6jen ja aikataulujen sovittaminen yhteen on haastavaa.\n\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkielman tarkoitus on kartoittaa lukion oppim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n sis\u00e4ll\u00e4 olevia integrointimahdollisuuksia ja antaa esimerkkej\u00e4 integroituvista sis\u00e4ll\u00f6ist\u00e4. Kartoitus perustuu voi-massa olevien opetussuunnitelmien, oppiaineiden oppikirjojen ja k\u00e4ytett\u00e4viss\u00e4 olevien opetusv\u00e4lineiden tarjoamiin eheytysmahdollisuuksiin. Eheytysesimerkit on ker\u00e4tty tiettyjen yleisten koulusoittimien ymp\u00e4rille, joiden soittoa nuoret usein harrastavat. Tutkielman liitteiss\u00e4 esitell\u00e4\u00e4n erilaisia kokeellisia integrointi-ideoita.\n\nTutkielman p\u00e4\u00e4paino on fysiikan aalto-opin k\u00e4sitteiden yhdist\u00e4misess\u00e4 musiikkikasvatukseen sek\u00e4 musiikkiluokan tarjoamien opetusv\u00e4lineiden hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4misess\u00e4 fysiikan kokeellisuudessa. Ensisijaisesti keskityt\u00e4\u00e4n akustisten soittimien fysiikkaan ja niiden tuomiin integrointimahdollisuuksiin. Lis\u00e4ksi sivutaan kuulonhuoltoa sek\u00e4 musiikkiteknologian tuomia mahdollisuuksia s\u00e4hk\u00f6opin ja magnetismin k\u00e4sittelyyn. N\u00e4in pyrit\u00e4\u00e4n l\u00f6yt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n yhteys fysikaalisen ajattelutavan ja musiikillisen kehityksen v\u00e4lille.\n\nFysiikan ja musiikin integrointimahdollisuuksia on useita ja t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkielmassa painotettu k\u00e4siteintegrointi on vain kapea leikkaus eri vaihtoehdoista. K\u00e4sitteiden integrointi\nantaa mahdollisuuden kytke\u00e4 fysiikan sis\u00e4ll\u00f6t ymp\u00e4r\u00f6iv\u00e4\u00e4n maailmaan ja v\u00e4hent\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n\nvirhek\u00e4sitysten m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4. Yhteys musiikkiin on mielek\u00e4s ja motivoiva kannustin opiskeluun,\nmik\u00e4 mahdollisesti heijastuu suorana hy\u00f6tyn\u00e4 opiskelijan henkil\u00f6kohtaiseen musiikin harrastamiseen. Tutkielman aikana tehtiin kaksi lyhytt\u00e4 integrointikokeilua ja huomattiin\nintegroinnilla olevan positiivinen vaikutus opiskelumotivaatioon.\n\nJatkotutkimuksen kohteina voisivat olla oppimateriaalien integroituvuus, erilaiset opetuskokeilut sek\u00e4 integroivien ty\u00f6ohjeiden suunnittelu. Lis\u00e4ksi oppiaineintegroinnilla on selvi\u00e4 sovelluskohteita musiikkiteknologiassa sek\u00e4 mobiililaitteiden k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 opetuksessa. Kahden aineen yhdist\u00e4misest\u00e4 voisi olla my\u00f6s hy\u00f6ty\u00e4 erityispedagogiikan tarpeisiin. It is a known fact that an integrated\ncurriculum results in better learning by forming more coherent and structured content\nknowledge for the students. As a result students will have a better understanding of the\nsubject matter. Integration has it's difficulties because teachers have to work together to\nand ways to meld contents and schedules of different subjects.\n\nThis thesis tries to provide information about subject integration between physics and\nmusic in the Finnish upper secondary school. Based on the information collected from national curriculums, student text books and subject-specific teaching equipment, examples\nof integration are suggested. Examples are based on common musical instruments found\nin schools and instruments that students themselves are often playing. Different practical\napplications of integration are included in the appendices.\n\nThe main focus is on physical waves, especially sound and wave mechanics with emphasis\non practical laboratory work and concept-understanding. Physics contents are compared\nto contents in music education and musical instruments available in the schools. Acoustic\ninstruments receive special attention and in addition, topics on hearing loss and music\ntechnology are briefly explored in the context of electricity and magnetism. The goal of\nthis integration is to reinforce the individual physical thinking and musicianship.\n\nThere are many fields where subject matter integration is possible and this thesis could\ncover only a minute amount of that. Integrating different concepts of physics and music\nto each other gives a very good way to make physics contents meaningful and hopefully\nreducing tendency to generate alternate frameworks for physics phenomena. Furthermore,\nrelation to music is motivating for the student and might have gain in personal musical\ngrowth. Two short teaching experiments were conducted while writing the thesis and these\nconfirmed the motivational gain with subject integration.\n\nMore research is needed and interesting topics could be text book analysis, different teaching experiments and designing practical exercises for laboratory work.
