Ty\u00f6n teoriaosuudessa k\u00e4sitell\u00e4\u00e4n kulttuurienv\u00e4lisen viestinn\u00e4n ja monimuotoisuuden johtamisen teoriaa sek\u00e4 monikulttuurisuutta ja ty\u00f6per\u00e4ist\u00e4 maahanmuuttoa Suomessa ja Etel\u00e4-Pohjanmaalla. Empiirinen tutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin teemahaastattelujen avulla. 11 johtajaa haastateltiin ja analysointimenetelm\u00e4n\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin teemoittelua. Tutkimuksen merkitt\u00e4vimpi\u00e4 tuloksia oli, ett\u00e4 yritykset ovat rekrytoineet ty\u00f6voimaa ulkomailta p\u00e4\u00e4asiassa, koska yritykset eiv\u00e4t ole l\u00f6yt\u00e4neet osaavaa kotimaista ty\u00f6voimaa ja koska rekrytoimalla ulkomailta on mahdollista l\u00f6yt\u00e4\u00e4 ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6it\u00e4, joilla on kielitaitoa ja tiet\u00e4myst\u00e4 jostain tietyst\u00e4 kulttuurista. Tutkimuksen tulosten mukaan suomalaisten vastustus koskien ty\u00f6per\u00e4ist\u00e4 maahanmuuttoa on v\u00e4hentynyt. Osalla on etnosentrinen suhtautuminen muuttunut kulttuurirelativistiseen suuntaan. Tutkimus osoittaa ett\u00e4 sek\u00e4 johtajat ett\u00e4 ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4t ovat oppineet erilaisista kulttuureista, kielitaito on kehittynyt ja he ovat l\u00f6yt\u00e4neet uusia tapoja toteuttaa erilaisia teht\u00e4vi\u00e4. Tutkimuksen tulosten mukaan muista kulttuureista tulevat ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4t ovat p\u00e4\u00e4asiassa innokkaampia tekem\u00e4\u00e4n ylit\u00f6it\u00e4 jos siihen on tarvetta, kuin suomalaiset, koska tulokset osoittivat ett\u00e4 useimmat heist\u00e4 ovat ahkeria, kiitollisia, joustavia, ty\u00f6h\u00f6n sitoutuneita, motivoituneita ja haluavat ansaita rahaa. Monimuotoisuuden ja monimuotoisuuden johtamisen haasteina mainittiin muun muassa puutteet henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n ja johdon kielitaidossa, byrokratia ja puutteet julkisten palveluiden tarjoamassa avussa ty\u00f6nantajille. Kulttuuriset eroavaisuudet, jotka aiheuttavat haasteita ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n, ovat eroavaisuudet valtaet\u00e4isyyksiss\u00e4, aikak\u00e4sityksess\u00e4 sek\u00e4 juhlapyhien sijoittumisessa, joka toisaalta n\u00e4htiin my\u00f6s etuna. Tutkimuksen tuloksista voi olla hy\u00f6ty\u00e4 suomalaisille organisaatioille, joilla on, tai joiden tarkoituksena on rekrytoida monimuotoista ty\u00f6vomaa sek\u00e4 kaikille henkil\u00f6ille, esimerkiksi virkamiehille tai konsulteille, jotka tarvitsevat lis\u00e4\u00e4 tietoa monimuotoisuuden johtamisen ja kulttuurienv\u00e4lisest\u00e4 viestinn\u00e4n kokemuksista ja k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6ist\u00e4 suomalaisissa organisaatioissa.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "This qualitative study aims to find out what kind of experiences South Ostrobothnian managers have concerning diversity management and intercultural communication in multicultural organisations. Theory of intercultural communication, diversity management as well as multiculturalism and work related migration in Finland and South Ostrobothnia are presented. Data was collected by theme-based interviews of 11 managers and analyzed by themes. The main findings of the research are that organisations have recruited foreign employees mainly because they have not been able to find skilled Finnish workforce and because foreign employees have knowledge about certain culture and language. Based on the results of the study, among Finnish people resistance concerning labour-based migration has decreased. Finnish people who have been ethnocentric have developed themselves towards cultural relativism. Study shows that managers and employees have learned about different cultures and languages as well as new ways of completing different tasks. Foreign employees are mainly more willing to do extra hours at work if there is a need, because, according to the study, most of them are hardworking, thankful, flexible, committed to the work, motivated and want to earn money. The challenges of diversity and diversity management have been with the language, byrocracy and lack of government guidance. Cultural differences that affect to the working life are differences in public holidays, power distance and time concept.
