Liikuntakasvatuksen laitos, Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopisto, Liikuntapedagogiikan pro gradu \u2013tutkielma, 60 s., 2 liitett\u00e4.\n\nKouluik\u00e4isten lasten ja nuorten p\u00e4ivitt\u00e4inen fyysinen aktiivisuus on v\u00e4hentynyt merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti. Passiivisen el\u00e4m\u00e4ntavan yleistyminen ja arkiliikunnan v\u00e4heneminen ovat johtaneet lasten ja nuorten lihomiseen, joka on kolminkertaistunut viimeisten vuosikymmenten aikana. Muutokset nuorten el\u00e4m\u00e4ntavoissa n\u00e4kyv\u00e4t ylipainon, tyypin 2 diabeteksen sek\u00e4 tuki- ja liikuntaelimist\u00f6n sairauksien lis\u00e4\u00e4ntymisen\u00e4. Koululiikunnalla on eritt\u00e4in t\u00e4rke\u00e4 rooli niiden lasten ja nuorten el\u00e4m\u00e4ss\u00e4, jotka eiv\u00e4t harrasta vapaa-ajallaan lainkaan liikuntaa tai liikkuvat eritt\u00e4in v\u00e4h\u00e4n. \n\nPro gradu -tutkielmani tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, kuinka paljon tutkittavan koulun oppilaat liikkuivat fyysisen aktiivisuuden kokonaism\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n, v\u00e4lituntiliikunnan sek\u00e4 koulumatkaliikunnan osalta. Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin my\u00f6s, kuinka suuri osa oppilaista saavutti kest\u00e4vyysliikunnan suosituksen ja kuinka paljon heille kertyi passiivista ruutuaikaa viihdemedian \u00e4\u00e4ress\u00e4 p\u00e4iv\u00e4n aikana. Tuloksia verrattiin sukupuolten ja luokka-asteiden v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Tutkimuksen aineisto on ker\u00e4tty Liikkuva koulu \u2013hankkeeseen kuuluneella s\u00e4hk\u00f6isell\u00e4 kyselyll\u00e4 kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 2014. Tutkittavaksi joukoksi muodostui tutkittavan koulun 3\u20136 luokkalaiset oppilaat. Heit\u00e4 oli yhteens\u00e4 133, joista 73 oli tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 ja 60 poikia. \n\nTutkimuksen mukaan pojat olivat v\u00e4litunneilla hieman liikunnallisesti aktiivisempia kuin tyt\u00f6t. Pojat osallistuivat aktiivisemmin pallopelien pelaamiseen ja tyt\u00f6t leikkiv\u00e4t liikuntaleikkej\u00e4 poikia enemm\u00e4n. Luokka-asteiden v\u00e4lill\u00e4 ei esiintynyt eroja v\u00e4lituntiaktiivisuudessa. Koulumatkaliikunnan osalta tyt\u00f6t olivat hieman poikia aktiivisempia kulkemaan liikuntaa vaativilla tavoilla koulumatkansa. Tutkimus osoitti, ett\u00e4 yleisin liikkumistapa kodin ja koulun v\u00e4lill\u00e4 on moottoriajoneuvo. Tutkituista 3\u20136 luokkalaisista liikkui riitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti noin puolet lasten ja nuorten liikunnan asiantuntijaryhm\u00e4n antaman fyysisen aktiivisuuden suositukseen n\u00e4hden (1\u20132 tuntia p\u00e4iv\u00e4ss\u00e4). Tulosten mukaan pojat olivat tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 vain hieman aktiivisempia p\u00e4iv\u00e4n aikana eik\u00e4 luokka-asteiden v\u00e4lill\u00e4 esiintynyt merkitsevi\u00e4 eroja fyysisess\u00e4 kokonaisaktiivisuudessa. Viihdemedian \u00e4\u00e4ress\u00e4 vietetyn ruutuajan suosituksen (korkeintaan kaksi tuntia p\u00e4iv\u00e4ss\u00e4) arkip\u00e4ivisin ylitti vain kymmenenosa oppilaista, mutta viikonloppuisin suosituksen ylitti joka viides. \n\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen perusteella voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 tutkittavan koulun oppilaista l\u00e4hes puolet liikkuu terveytens\u00e4 kannalta riitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti ja passiivisen ruutuajan suosituksen ylitt\u00e4\u00e4 vai pieni osa oppilaista arkip\u00e4ivisin. Inactive lifestyles and reduced overall physical activity have led to the prevalence of overweight among children and adolescents, which has tripled in the last decades. Changes in youth lifestyles can result in a variety of adverse health outcomes, including obesity, type 2 diabetes and musculoskeletal diseases. Physical activity during school days has a very important role in those school-aged children's lives, who are not enthusiastic about exercising in their leisure time. \n\nThis study aimed to determine in the school surveyed, the pupils' overall amount of physical activity, including recesses and school journeys. The study also investigated how large a proportion of the pupils achieved the recommended amount of health-related physical activity and how much inactive TV and computer time the pupils spent during the day. The results were compared by gender and age. The data of this study was collected with the electronic questionnaire of the Liikkuva koulu project in the spring of 2014. The studied population consisted of 133 (73 girls and 60 boys) 3\u20136 grade elementary school students. \n\nThe results revealed that the boys were slightly more physically active than girls during recess times and engaged more in ball games, while girls reported a larger percentage of time spent in playground games. There was no difference in recess activity between the age levels. Girls were a slightly more physically active during the school journeys than boys. The study pointed out that the most common mode of transportation between home and school is motor vehicle. Fifty percent of the 3\u20136 graders exceeded the current recommendation for health-related physical activity (1\u20132 hours per day). The boys were only a little bit more physically active than girls and there were no differences between age levels. Only ten percent of the students exceeded the recommended level of TV and computer viewing (max. two hours per day) but during the weekend the recommendation was exceeded by every fifth student.\n\nBased on this study half of the pupils exceeded the current recommendations for health-related physical activity and only a small proportion of the pupils exceeded the recommended level of inactive TV and computer viewing. In addition to physical education, schools should offer physical activity in a variety of settings during the school day.
