Se mahdollistaa avoimen ja rehellisen\nkeskustelun k\u00e4ymisen sek\u00e4 asiakkaiden, ett\u00e4 osakkeenomistajien kanssa.\nBlogeissa voidaan my\u00f6s toteuttaa tuotteiden, palvelujen tai oman asiantuntijuuden\nmarkkinointia hienovaraisemmin ja autenttisemmin kuin perinteisiss\u00e4\nmarkkinointikanavissa. Tutkielma toteutettiin kirjallisuuskatsauksena. Aluksi\ntarkasteltiin yritysblogien ominaisuuksia suhteessa muuhun sosiaaliseen mediaan\nsek\u00e4 yrityksen tavanomaisiin viestint\u00e4- ja markkinav\u00e4yliin. T\u00e4m\u00e4n lis\u00e4ksi\nk\u00e4ytiin l\u00e4pi, mink\u00e4laista tutkimusta yritysblogeista on tehty. Varsinaisissa tutkimuskysymyksiss\u00e4\nperehdyttiin yritysten sek\u00e4 ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden syihin perustaa\nja yll\u00e4pit\u00e4\u00e4 yritysblogeja, sek\u00e4 haasteisiin joita yritysbloggaamisessa esiintyy.\nTutkimustuloksina todettiin, ett\u00e4 yritysblogien tutkimuksessa on pyritty esimerkiksi\nselvitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n johtoportaan sek\u00e4 ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden asenteita blogeja kohtaan,\nheid\u00e4n motiivejaan perustaa blogeja, haasteita blogien pit\u00e4misess\u00e4, blogien\ntehokkuutta liiketoiminnassa tai liikevaihdon kasvattamisessa, sek\u00e4 luokittelemaan\nblogeja jatkotutkimusta varten. Yritysten syyt perustaa ja yll\u00e4pit\u00e4\u00e4 blogeja\nvaihtelivat esimerkiksi yrityksen koosta tai toimialasta riippuen. Monet\nyritykset perustavat blogeja kokeilumieless\u00e4, kun taas toisilla todettiin olevan\nstrategia p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksenteon takana. Monen yrityksen motiivina on keskustelujen\nk\u00e4yminen yleis\u00f6jen kanssa sek\u00e4 n\u00e4kyvyyden parantaminen niin ihmisille, kuin\nhakukoneillekin. Yrityksill\u00e4 on halu n\u00e4ytt\u00e4yty\u00e4 edell\u00e4k\u00e4vij\u00e4n\u00e4 ja ajatusjohtajana\nomalla alallaan. Yritysblogi koettiin matalan kynnyksen toiminnaksi, jolla n\u00e4it\u00e4\npyrkimyksi\u00e4 voidaan edist\u00e4\u00e4. Haasteista yritysbloggaamisessa esiin nousivat\nsis\u00e4ll\u00f6n hallinta ja sen suhteuttaminen avoimen kommunikaation pyrkimykseen\nyrityksiss\u00e4. Yrityst\u00e4 vahingoittava kirjoittaminen koettiin ongelmalliseksi\nniin ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden, kuin ulkopuolisten kirjoittamissa teksteiss\u00e4, kuten esimerkiksi\nblogin kommenteissa. Corporate blog is a Web 2.0 channel that makes it possible for companies\nto communicate interactively with its audiences. Corporate blog enables\nopen and honest conversations with both customers and shareholders. The\nmarketing of products, services and own expertise can also be done with more\nsubtlety and and authenticity than in traditional marketing channels. The thesis\nwas conducted as a literature review. First the characteristics of corporate blogs\nwere studied in comparison to other social media and traditional public relations\nand marketing channels of a firm. In addition, how corporate blogs have\nbeen studied was gone through. As the primary study questions the reasons\nwhy companies and their employees start and maintain blogs were analysed, as\nwell as challenges that corporate blogs might face. The results of the study were\nthat in the studies regarding corporate blogs there have for example been attempts\nto figure out what are the attitudes of managers and employees towards\nblogs are, their motives to start blogs, the challenges in maintaining blogs, the\nefficecy of blogs in business or inceasing revenue and categorizing blogs for\nfuture research. The reasons why companies start and maintain blogs varied\ndepending on variables such as the size of the company and the field of business\nthat they operate in. Many companies start blogs as an experiment while\nothers have a strategy behind the decision. Companies had motives such as having\nconversations with their customers and improving visibility in the eyes of\ncustomers and in search engine results. Companies also have a desire to be\nviewed as forerunners and thought leaders in their domain. Corporate blogging\nwas deemed as low-effort activity that can support these endeavours. Regarding\nchallenges in starting a corporate blog the issue of managing content was\nraised as well as making it work with open communication efforts in the corporation.\nHarmful writing towards the company was deemed problematic both in\nemployee written blogs and in texts from outside the company such as in the\nblog comment section.
