Liikunta-pedagogiikan pro gradu \u2013 tutkielma. 79 s, 2 liitett\u00e4.\r\n\r\n\r\nTutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 peruskoulun yhdeks\u00e4sluokkalaisten tytt\u00f6jen ja poikien kokemaa tilanneahdistuneisuutta koulun liikuntatunneilla. Aihe on t\u00e4rke\u00e4, koska viel\u00e4 murros-i\u00e4ss\u00e4 el\u00e4v\u00e4t yl\u00e4kouluik\u00e4iset nuoret ovat alttiita kielteisille kokemuksille, ja yleisesti kouluviih-tyvyys on Suomessa varsin heikkoa. Tilanneahdistuneisuutta mittaavat osa-alueet olivat so-maattinen ja kognitiivinen ahdistuneisuus sek\u00e4 huolestuneisuus. Tarkoituksena oli my\u00f6s selvit-t\u00e4\u00e4 sukupuolten v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 eroja edell\u00e4 kuvatuissa summamuuttujissa sek\u00e4 l\u00f6yt\u00e4\u00e4 syit\u00e4 ahdistunei-suuden kokemiselle. Tutkimuksen teht\u00e4v\u00e4n\u00e4 oli lis\u00e4ksi selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 liikunnan arvosanan ja koetun fyysisen p\u00e4tevyyden yhteytt\u00e4 koettuun ahdistuneisuuteen. \r\n\r\nTutkimuksen kohdejoukkona olivat yhdeks\u00e4sluokkalaiset tyt\u00f6t (n=58) ja pojat (n=75) etel\u00e4-suomalaisesta, keskisuomalaisesta sek\u00e4 pohjoissuomalaisesta koulusta. Tutkimuksen aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 2013. Aineiston keruu tapahtui internetpohjaisella kyselylomakkeella. Koet-tua koululiikunta-ahdistuneisuutta selvitettiin Barkoukiksen (2007) koululiikunnan ahdistunei-suusmittarin suomenkielisell\u00e4 versiolla. Koettua fyysist\u00e4 p\u00e4tevyytt\u00e4 mitattiin Lintusen (1995) koetun fyysisen p\u00e4tevyyden mittarilla. Mittareiden luotettavuutta tarkasteltiin cronbachin al-fakertoimella. Tuloksia analysoitiin frekvenssien, keskilukujen, korrelaatiokertoimien, ristiin-taulukoinnin, t-testin sek\u00e4 varianssianalyysin avulla. \r\n\r\nOppilaiden liikuntatunneilla kokema tilanneahdistuneisuus oli koko otoksessa hyvin v\u00e4h\u00e4ist\u00e4. Tyt\u00f6ill\u00e4 se oli kuitenkin merkitsev\u00e4sti suurempaa kuin pojilla jokaisella ahdistuneisuuden osa-alueella. Huolestuneisuus oli ahdistuneisuutta selvimmin kuvaava piirre, ja se oli kummallakin sukupuolella voimakkaampaa kuin kognitiivinen tai somaattinen ahdistuneisuus. Huolestunei-suuden tunnetta kuvasi kummallakin sukupuolella vahvimmin ik\u00e4v\u00e4 tunne siit\u00e4 kun muut kat-sovat liikuntasuorituksia. Tyt\u00f6ist\u00e4 82 % mainitsi jonkin asian liikunnassa aiheuttavan ahdistu-neisuutta, kun pojista vastaava osuus oli vain 25 %. Sek\u00e4 pojat ett\u00e4 tyt\u00f6t kokivat liikuntaryh-m\u00e4n, opettajan, liikuntalajien sek\u00e4 liikuntatestien aiheuttavan jonkin verran ahdistuneisuutta. Koettu fyysinen p\u00e4tevyys korreloi ahdistuneisuuteen vahvemmin kuin liikuntanumero, eli op-pilaat jotka kokivat p\u00e4tevyytens\u00e4 liikunnassa heikoksi olivat muita ahdistuneempia.\r\n\r\nTulosten perusteella n\u00e4ytt\u00e4isi silt\u00e4, ett\u00e4 erityisesti tytt\u00f6jen ahdistuskokemuksia liikuntatunneil-la pit\u00e4isi v\u00e4hent\u00e4\u00e4 ohjaamalla liikuntaryhmien toimintaa ja vuorovaikutusta ryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 sek\u00e4 kiinnitt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 huomiota ilmapiiriin. Sekaryhmien muodostamista liikunnassa tulisi harkita sun-nin sis\u00e4ll\u00f6n mukaan. Does PE lessons cause anxiety? Ninth graders experienced anxiety during school PE lessons. Department of Sport Sciences, University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, Master\u2019s the-sis, 79 pp., 2 appendicies\r\n\r\n\r\nPurpose of the study was to evaluate state anxiety related to physical education lessons among the ninth graders of the Finnish comprehensive school. Divisions that measured the state anxi-ety were somatic anxiety, cognitive anxiety and worry. Purpose was also to examine differ-ences between the genders and figure out reasons for suffered anxiety. More over the study examined the correlation between the perceived physical competence, physical education grade and experienced anxiety. \r\n\r\nParticipants of the study were ninth grade\u2019s girls (n=58) and boys (n=75) from three schools, Southern, Central and Northern Finland. The data was collected during the spring 2013. Data collection was conducted via internet-based questionnaire. Experienced state anxiety was measured with Barkoukis\u2019s (2007) questionnaire. It measured cognitive anxiety, somatic anxi-ety and worry. Experienced physical competence was measured by Lintunen\u2019s (1995) ques-tionnaire. Reliability of the questionnaires was considered with Cronbach\u2019s alfa. The results of the study were analyzed with frequencies, averages, correlations, crosstabulation, t-test and variance analysis.\r\n\r\nThe experienced state anxiety in PE lessons was very minor within the sample. However, the girls were experiencing much more anxiety than the boys in every division. The worry was the most descriptive feature of the anxiety within both genders. The most characteristic expe-rience of worry was the negative feelings caused by others watching while performing a task. 82 % of the girls and 25 % of the boys mentioned something that caused anxiety during a physical education lesson. The girls as well as the boys felt that PE class, the teacher, exercise and tests are causing anxiety. Perceived physical competence correlated with anxiety more than students PE grade.\r\n\r\nBased on the results it seems that especially girls comfort during the PE lessons should be in-creased. Teachers should pay more attention to guiding operation and interaction within the group. Atmosphere of the lessons sould be more task oriented. Teachers should consider care-fully of having boys and girls in the same PE class.
