N\u00e4m\u00e4 antavat kuitenkin kesken\u00e4\u00e4n\nhyvin erilaisen kuvan siit\u00e4, mik\u00e4 historiassa on t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4. Opetussuunnitelmat painottavat\nhistorian taitoja, mutta oppikirjat sis\u00e4lt\u00e4v\u00e4t valmista sis\u00e4lt\u00f6tietoa.\nTutkimusaineistoni kolmas osa koostuu yhdeks\u00e4sluokkalaisille nuorille tehdyst\u00e4 kyselyst\u00e4.\nYhdeks\u00e4sluokkalaiset ovat juuri saaneet peruskoulun historian oppim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n opiskeltua ja se\non heill\u00e4 viel\u00e4 tuoreessa muistissa. Millainen kuva historiasta on peruskoulun pohjalta\nj\u00e4\u00e4nyt? Tarkastelen nuorten kokemusta historian hy\u00f6dyllisyydest\u00e4 ja kiinnostavuudesta sek\u00e4\nsit\u00e4, mit\u00e4 he kokevat historiasta oppineensa ja kokevatko he olevansa historian kanssa\ntekemisiss\u00e4 koulun ulkopuolella. Tavoitteeni on n\u00e4iden kysymysten kautta hahmottaa\nnuorten historiakuvaa ja sen suhdetta koulun historiakuvaan.\nK\u00e4sittelen kaikkia kolmea tutkimuskohdetta vuorotellen ja vertaillen. Tutkimusaineiston\nanalysoinnissa sovellan enimm\u00e4kseen laadullisia menetelmi\u00e4, mutta erityisesti lomakekyselyn\nkohdalla ker\u00e4\u00e4n my\u00f6s m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4llist\u00e4 tietoa. Tutkimusaineisto on valittu yhden suomalaisen\nyl\u00e4koulun ymp\u00e4rilt\u00e4 ja sen voidaan ajatella antavan kuvaa siit\u00e4, millaista historian opetus on\nt\u00e4ss\u00e4 koulussa. Opetussuunnitelmat ovat kuitenkin valtakunnallisia ja tarkasteltavia\noppikirjoja k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n ymp\u00e4ri Suomea. Muun tutkimuksen avulla vertaan my\u00f6s nuorten\nkokemuksia laajempaan aineistoon, jolloin tutkimuksen tulokset ovat jossain m\u00e4\u00e4rin\nyleistett\u00e4viss\u00e4.\nHistorian t\u00e4rkeytt\u00e4 oppiaineena perustellaan sen yleissivist\u00e4v\u00e4ll\u00e4 vaikutuksella.\nOpetussuunnitelmassa historian keskeisiksi asioiksi m\u00e4\u00e4ritell\u00e4\u00e4n taitojen ja ajattelun\nkehitt\u00e4mist\u00e4, mutta oppikirjat keskittyv\u00e4t poliittisen historian tapahtumien esittelyyn.\nNuorista vain harva koki oppineensa historiasta niit\u00e4 taitoja, jotka opetussuunnitelma\nm\u00e4\u00e4rittelee keskeisiksi. Nuorten kiinnostus historiaa kohtaan vaihteli.
