Tutkimuksen tuloksena luotiin viisi konseptia sianlihantuotannon kehitt\u00e4miseksi. Konsepteissa kuvataan elintarviketeollisuuden informaatio- ja tietoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4tarpeita alkutuotannosta, tulevaisuuden tavoitteita sianlihatuotannon kehitt\u00e4miseksi, nykytuotannon haasteita, sek\u00e4 potentiaalisia lis\u00e4arvoa tuottavia palvelutuotteita. Tutkimuksessa otetaan huomioon uusimmat teknologiset mahdollisuudet, joita hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4en ruokaketju voi kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 toimintansa vastuullisuutta, l\u00e4pin\u00e4kyvyytt\u00e4, sek\u00e4 j\u00e4ljitett\u00e4vyytt\u00e4.\r\n\r\nTutkimus toteutettiin laadullisena tutkimuksena, jossa tutkimusmenetelm\u00e4ksi valittiin tapaustutkimus. Tutkimuksessa haastateltiin kuutta elintarviketeollisuuden edustajaa, jotka edustivat Suomen suurimpien elintarvike- ja rehuteollisuusyritysten johtoa, operatiivista johtoa, sek\u00e4 asiantuntijoita. Haastattelut toteutettiin teemahaastatteluina. Haastatteluaineisto teemoiteltiin, jonka pohjalta luotiin tutkimuksen lopputuloksena toimivat konseptit.\r\n\r\nKeskeisen\u00e4 haasteena tutkimuksessa on tunnistettu kokonaisvaltaisen in- formaatioj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n, kuten j\u00e4ljitett\u00e4vyysj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4, puuttuminen alkutuotannosta. Jatkossa sianlihantuotantoon tulisikin kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 kokonaisvaltainen tietoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4, joka mahdollistaa halutun informaation ker\u00e4\u00e4misen, analysoinnin, sek\u00e4 hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4misen koko ketjun hyv\u00e4ksi. J\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n avulla ketjun kannattavuus paranisi, tuotanto tehostuisi, tuotantotavat todennettaisiin, ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6vaikutuksia v\u00e4hennett\u00e4isiin ja ketjun hallinta paranisi.\r\n\r\nTutkimuksessa kuvatut konseptit toimivat parhaiten keskustelun avaajina elintarviketeollisuuden ja muiden ruokaketjun toimijoiden v\u00e4lisess\u00e4 vuoropuhelussa, jotta alkutuotannon teknologiaratkaisuja, tietoj\u00e4rjestelmi\u00e4 ja prosesseja voidaan kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 vastaamaan yh\u00e4 paremmin elintarviketeollisuuden ja uudenaikaisen ruokaj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n tietotarpeita. As a result of this study five concepts were created for the development of pork meat production. Concepts describe information- and information system needs of the food industry from the primary production, the future objectives for the development of pork meat production, the present challenges in production as well as potential service products. The study will take into account the latest technological opportunities, which allow the food chain to develop the chains accountability, transparency, and traceability.\r\n\r\nThe study is a qualitative study which utilizes case study research method. In the study six food industry representatives were interviewed. Interviewees represented Finland's largest food industry companies\u2019 management, operational management and experts. Interviews were conducted as semi-structured theme interviews. The interview data was organized into themes, which were used as a basis of the concepts.\r\n\r\nThe key challenge in the primary production is the shortage of compre- hensive information system, such as traceability system. In the future, a comprehensive information system should be developed for the production of pork meat. System should allow collection, analysis, and utilization of the desired information for entire chains benefit. The system allows the agri-food chain to improve profitability, enhance production, verify production practices, reduce the environmental impact and improve supply chain management.\r\n\r\nThe concepts work best as dialogue openers between the food industry and other agri-food chain actors in order to improve primary production\u2019s technology solutions, information systems and processes to meet the food in- dustries and modern food information system\u2019s needs.
