Liikuntabiologian laitos, Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopisto, Biomekaniikan Pro-gradu \u2013 tutkielma, s 81.\r\nT\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa selvitet\u00e4\u00e4n matkustamisen yhteydess\u00e4 tapahtuvaa istumisen vaikusta urheilusuoritukseen. Urheilijalle on tuttu k\u00e4site \u201djalat j\u00e4i bussiin\u201d. T\u00e4ll\u00e4 tarkoitetaan esim. ottelun alun vaikeuksia, jolloin jalat eiv\u00e4t toimi kunnolla ja saattavat olla esim. raskaan, kankean ja hitaan tuntuiset. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen kirjallisuuskatsauksessa k\u00e4yd\u00e4\u00e4n l\u00e4pi istumisen biomekaniikkaa ja pitk\u00e4aikaisesta akuutista istumisesta (matkustaminen) liikkumattomuudesta johtuvia asioita, jotka voivat vaikuttaa negatiivisesti urheilusuoritukseen. My\u00f6s optimaaliseen istuma-asentoon ja istuimeen kiinnitet\u00e4\u00e4n huomiota. Tutkimuksessa yritet\u00e4\u00e4n selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, kuinka n. 8 tunnin linja-autossa istuminen vaikuttaa pelaajien hermo-lihasj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n toimintaan ja suorituskykyyn lentopallo-ottelussa.\r\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tutkia linja-automatkustamisen vaikutusta sm-liiga tason mieslentopalloilijoiden hermo-lihasj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4\u00e4n ja suorituskykyyn staattisen (HIK = hyppy ilman kevennyst\u00e4) ja esikevennetyn (HK = hyppy kevennyksell\u00e4) hypyn avulla. Tutkimuksessa k\u00e4ytettiin voimalevyj\u00e4 hyppyjen testaamiseen. Lihasaktiivisuutta mitattiin soleus, tibial anterior, rectus femoris ja vastus lateral lihaksesta hyppyjen aikana. Synkronoidusta voimalevy- ja EMG signaalista m\u00e4\u00e4riteltiin voimatuotto, voimantuottonopeus, lihasaktiivisuus, hyppykorkeudet ja soleus lihaksesta venytysrefleksi\u00e4 vastaavat komponentit ja esiaktiivisuus esikevennyshypyn aikana. \r\nStaattinen hyppy (HIK) heikkeni kotipelimittauksesta linja-automatkustamisen j\u00e4lkeiseen vieraspelimittaukseen 11 mm (n. 2,5 %) ja sen konsentrinen voimantuotto oli laskenut 62N (9 %), mik\u00e4 oli tilastollisesti merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4 (p < 0.05). Esikevennyshyppy (HK) oli parantunut kotipelimittauksesta vieraspelimittaukseen 6 mm (n. 1 %, n.s.). Venytysrefleksi komponenteissa M1, M2 ja M3 ei havaittu tilastollisesti merkitt\u00e4vi\u00e4 eroja koti- ja vieraspelimittausten v\u00e4lill\u00e4, vaikka venytysrefleksin esiaktiivisuus oli tilastollisesti merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti suurempaa ( p < 0.05) 32 % vieraspelimittauksessa. \r\nHypyss\u00e4 ilman kevennyst\u00e4 (HIK) konsentrisen voimantuoton ja voimantuotonajan heikkenemiset saattavat liitty\u00e4 istumisen aiheuttamasta lihasten ja kudosten v\u00e4symykseen ja puutumiseen, mik\u00e4 johtuu heikentyneest\u00e4 aineenvaihdunnasta, verenvirtauksesta ja kuormituksesta alaraajoissa. My\u00f6s iskemia saattaa aiheuttaa alaraajoissa hermoston heikentyneen toiminna, jolloin r\u00e4j\u00e4ht\u00e4v\u00e4n HIK hypyn suorittaminen hidastuisi ja voimataso laskisi, koska kyky motoristen yksik\u00f6iden rekrytointiin on heikentynyt. Toisaalta t\u00e4m\u00e4 ei n\u00e4y HK hypyss\u00e4 niin selke\u00e4sti, mik\u00e4 johtuneen siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 HK hyppy on luonteeltaan erilainen, miss\u00e4 korostuu lonkan ojentajalihasten suurempi k\u00e4ytt\u00f6, elastisuus ominaisuudet ja venytysrefleksi. Yll\u00e4tt\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 oli, ett\u00e4 HK hyppy tulos oli hiukan parempi vieraspelimittauksessa kuin kotipelimittauksessa linja-automatkustamisen j\u00e4lkeen. N\u00e4ytt\u00e4isi silt\u00e4, ett\u00e4 n.8 tunnin istumisen j\u00e4lkeen linja-autossa, elastiset ominaisuudet eiv\u00e4t heikkene. HK hypyn venytysrefleksin mittaus olisi ollut parempi toteuttaa pudotushyppyin\u00e4, sill\u00e4 HK hypyn esikevennys alkaa reiden liikkeest\u00e4, jolloin Soleus lihaksen venytysrefleksiaktiivisuuden alkamisajankohta pitenee (n. 400 ms) ja siihen saattaa sekoittua tahdonalaista lihasaktiivisuutta. Among athletes it is quite well known phrase \u201dleave your feet in the buss\u201d. That means problems at the beginning of performance after traveling e.g. athlete\u2019s feet don\u2019t work well. Athlete may feel feet e.g. as heavy, stiff-legged or slow. The literature review of this thesis include sitting biomechanics and acute prolonged sitting (traveling) and immobility effects that may affect sport performance negatively. Optimal sitting position and optimal seat have also been discussed in the part of literature view. \r\nThe purpose of thesis is to study how 8 hours sitting in the buss affects to men volleyball players\u2019 neuromuscular system and performance using counter movement jump (CMJ) and static jump (SJ) tests. Force plate was used for measuring jump performances. Electrical activity of soleus, tibial anterior, vastus lateral and rectus femoris muscle was measured during jump tests. Force plate signal was synchronized with EMG signal and force produced, force produced speed, electrical muscle activity, jump heights and corresponding components and pretension of stretch reflex of soleus muscle were measured in CMJ. \r\n Static jump (SJ) height decreased 11 mm (about 2,5 %) and concentric force produced decreased 62N (9 %), that was statistically significant (p < 0.05) after buss traveling from home game measurement to visit game measurement. Counter movement jump (CMJ) height increased 6 mm (about 1 %, n.s.) to visit game measurement. There were no statistically significant differences in stretch reflex components of M1, M2 and M3 between home game and visit game measurement although pretension of stretch reflex of soleus muscle was statistically significantly higher (p < 0.05) 32 % in visit game measurement.\r\nDecreased concentric force produced and decreased force produced speed in SJ may relate to fatigue and numbness of muscles and tissues caused by sitting that result from impaired metabolism, blood flow and loaded lower limbs. Ischemia may also affects negatively to function of nervous system of lower limb in which case the execution speed of SJ would slow down and force level would decrease because the ability to recruit motor units has weakened. In turn this doesn\u2019t occur in CMJ that may result from fact that CMJ is different jump by nature where extensor muscles of hip are used more effectively, elastic properties and stretch reflex. It was surprise that the result of CMJ was little bit better in visit game measurement than in home game measurement after buss travel. It seems that elastic properties will not be weakened after sitting 8 hours in the buss. It would have been better to use drop jump for estimating stretch reflex of soleus because pretension of jump starts in this study from lowering thighs when starting time for stretch reflex activity extended for about 400 ms. In this case it may be possible that voluntary muscle activity will mix with stretch reflex.
