Laboratory observation of seasonal occurrence of\r\nactinospores sampled from oligochaetes from RTKL Tervo Fish Farm revealed 6 types of\r\nactinospores from collective groups of Triactinomyxon, Raabeia and Aurantiactinomyxon\r\nin 2010, and 3 types of actinospores in 2011. Both years showed similar patterns with the\r\nrelease of actinospores peaking in both summer (June and July) and winter (January and\r\nFebruary) times. The infection experiment was not successful in infecting Coregonus\r\nlavaretus with myxozoan parasite Henneguya zschokkei. In addition, 336 individuals of\r\nwhitefish C. lavaretus from fish farm were examined to study the factors influencing the\r\nprevalence and intensity of infection of H. zschokkei. Three types of cysts were observed in\r\nthis study namely cyst type-1 (mature plasmodium cyst), cyst type-2 (intermediate\r\nplasmodium cyst) and cyst type-3 (immature cyst). A pattern was observed with high\r\nprevalence of type 3 cyst (small cyst without myxospore) in young C. lavaretus and high\r\nprevalence of type-1 cyst in older C. lavaretus. Melanisation of cysts were also observed\r\nespecially in older C. lavaretus. The prevalence of H. zschokkei was influenced by host age\r\n(42.0 % in 2 year old; 0.7 % in 1 year old) and host size but not by host sex. Lis\u00e4ksi tavoitteena oli tutkia loisen plasmodium-kystien kehittymist\u00e4 siiassa.\r\nHarvasukamatois\u00e4nt\u00e4\u00e4 etsitt\u00e4ess\u00e4 otettiin pohjan\u00e4ytteit\u00e4 Riista- ja kalatalouden\r\ntutkimuslaitoksen Tervon yksik\u00f6n poistouomasta 2010 ja 2011 ja seurattiin Myxozoa\r\nactinospoorien parveilua harvasukamadoista laboratoriossa kes\u00e4kuulta seuraavan vuoden\r\nhelmikuulle. Molempina vuosina actinospooreja parveili kes\u00e4-hein\u00e4kuussa sek\u00e4 toisen\r\nkerran tammi-helmikuussa. Siian rakkoloision actinospooreja ei kuitenkaan iti\u00f6iden\r\njoukosta l\u00f6ytynyt, vaikka laitoksella oli aikaisempina vuosina esiintynyt loista siioissa.\r\nInfektiokokeessa yritettiin tartuttaa siiasta saatuja myxospooreja harvasukamatoihin.\r\nMadot ker\u00e4ttiin Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n alueen lammikoista, joissa siikaa ei esiinny, kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 2011 ja\r\naltistettiin myxospoorisuspensiolle, joka tehtiin a) tuoreista plasmodium-kysetist\u00e4 saaduista\r\nspooreista, b) vanhentuneista plasmodiumeista saaduista spooreista (80 vrk s\u00e4ilytys 5\u00baC\r\nvedess\u00e4 ennen infektiokoetta) sek\u00e4 c) kontrollisuspensiolle (pelkk\u00e4 vesi). Koe tehtiin\r\nlaboratoriossa 8\u00baC l\u00e4mp\u00f6tilassa sek\u00e4 luonnon l\u00e4mp\u00f6tilaa noudattaen siten, ett\u00e4\r\nactinospoorien erittymist\u00e4 seurattiin kes\u00e4kuulta seuraavaan helmikuuhun saakka.\r\nInfektiokoe ei onnistunut; H. zschokkei actinospooreja ei saatu. Kemij\u00e4rvell\u00e4 sijaitsevan \u00e0\r\nPohjois-Suomessa sijaitsevasta kalanviljely-yksik\u00f6st\u00e4 otettiin 1+ ja 2+ -ik\u00e4isi\u00e4\r\nviljelysiikoja tutkittavaksi hein\u00e4kuussa 2011, loka-marraskuussa 2011, helmikuussa 2012\r\nja huhtikuussa 2012, yhteens\u00e4 336 kalaa. 1 + -ik\u00e4isiss\u00e4 kaloissa (n = 151) H. zschokkei \u2013\r\nloisinnna prevalenssi oli 0.7 % ja 2+ -ik\u00e4isiss\u00e4 (n = 185) 42.0 %. 2+ -ik\u00e4isiss\u00e4 siioissa\r\nmatureiden, kypsien plasmodium-kystien osuus ja sek\u00e4 kypsien plasmodioitten m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4,\r\nloisinnan kokonaisprevalenssi, plasmodium-kystien keskikoko ja melanisoitujen\r\nplasmodioitten osuus kasvoivat vuodenaikaisesti kes\u00e4st\u00e4 seuraavaan huhtikuuhun, mutta\r\npienten, immaturien kystien osuus ja lukum\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 alenivat.
