Polttoaineiden tuottajien, myyjien, toimittajien ja k\u00e4ytt\u00e4jien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 tehd\u00e4\u00e4n kauppaa miljoonilla euroilla. Usein maksuperuste m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4ytyy toimitetun polttoaineen l\u00e4mp\u00f6arvon mukaan. L\u00e4mp\u00f6arvon m\u00e4\u00e4ritt\u00e4miseksi on toimitetusta polttoaineesta otettava n\u00e4ytteit\u00e4, jotta voidaan kokeellisesti selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 toimitetun polttoaineen laatu. Puuper\u00e4isten polttoaineiden l\u00e4mp\u00f6arvoon eniten vaikuttava ominaisuus on kosteus. \n \nTy\u00f6ss\u00e4 selvitettiin Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n Keljonlahden voimalaitoksen polttoaineen vastaanottolaitteiston soveltuvuutta automaattiseen n\u00e4ytteenottoon. Tutkimus suoritettiin vuoden 2012 kev\u00e4ttalvella ja syksyll\u00e4, laitoksen normaalin tuotannon aikana. Testeiss\u00e4 otettiin standardin mukaisia k\u00e4sin\u00e4ytteit\u00e4 ja automaattisen laitteiston m\u00e4\u00e4riteltyjen sekvenssien mukaisesti ottamia n\u00e4ytteit\u00e4 yhteens\u00e4 35 kappaletta. K\u00e4si- ja automaattin\u00e4ytteit\u00e4 verrattiin SPSS analyysiohjelmiston avulla parittaisella t-testill\u00e4 ja selvitettiin eroavatko ne tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4sti toisistaan. \n \nVarsinainen laitteisto oli tutkimusta aloitettaessa jo suunniteltu ja osittain asennettu, joten itse rakenteisiin ja laitemitoituksiin ei voitu juuri puuttua. Vertailutestien lis\u00e4ksi k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6notossa kiinnitettiin huomiota toimintosekvensseihin ja laitteiston p\u00e4ivitt\u00e4iseen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n. Koska polttoainekuljettajien oikeanlainen toiminta purkuvaiheessa vaikuttaa sek\u00e4 automaattisen- ett\u00e4 k\u00e4sin\u00e4ytteen onnistumiseen, oli my\u00f6s henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n koulutukseen panostettava. \n \nTestijakso kesti kaiken kaikkiaan 6 kuukautta, jonka aikana vikoja korjattiin ja laitteiston toimintaa muokattiin voimalaitosoperaattoreiden toivomaan suuntaan. Laboratorioanalyysien tuloksena kuormista otetut k\u00e4si- ja automaattin\u00e4ytteet erosivat keskim\u00e4\u00e4rin -0,22 mittayksikk\u00f6\u00e4. Parivertailun erotusten merkitsevyystaso eli p-arvo oli 0,70, joka ylitti raja-arvon 0,05 selke\u00e4sti. Vertailutestien perusteella laitteiston ottamat n\u00e4ytteet eiv\u00e4t eroa tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4sti k\u00e4sin\u00e4ytteist\u00e4. Sellers, buyers, producers, users and transporters trade millions of Euros through wood fuel industry. The cost is usually based on the calorific value of the wood. Several samples have to be taken to measure the calorific value of the received wood fuel. Moisture content is the most weighted value in the calorific value of the wood based fuels. \n \nStudy consists of an evaluation of automatic sampling system in commercial use of fuel sampling in Keljonlahti power plant in Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4. Testing and commissioning were made during the standard production in 2012 spring and autumn. Testing and sampling performed from the delivered loads and altogether 35 approved paired samples were taken with both procedures, automatic and manual. Automatic and manual samples were compared with paired samples t-test with the help of SPSS analysis program. The goal was to statistically investigate if the two methods differ each other statistically significantly. \n \nThe automatic sampling devices were designed and almost fully assembled when the test \nplanning started so modifications of equipment and layout was difficult. Beside of the sample testing commissioning had an important role in running through the system testing to gain daily operation function. Even though the system is called automatic it needs some interfaces with operators, and those are truck drivers. There are some important points to be done and training of the drivers is the foundation of the working system. \n \nTrial took overall 6 months and several faults were fixed and instrumentation and control system was modified according to the operator\u2019s wishes. As a result of the laboratory analysis the difference between manually and automatically taken samples was -0,22 units. Significance level of the paired samples t-test did exceed the limit value of 0,05 and was 0,70. According to the paired samples test the sampling procedures do not differ each other statistically significantly.
