Yksipuolinen yhden kasvilajikkeen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 biokaasulaitoksen sy\u00f6tteen\u00e4 saattaa kui-tenkin aiheuttaa hivenainepuutoksia biokaasureaktorissa. Hivenainepuutos h\u00e4iritsee reakto-rin toimintaa erityisesti korkeilla kuormituksilla ja saattaa alentaa biokaasun tuotantoa. \nHivenaineet ovat prosessille t\u00e4rkeit\u00e4, koska ne toimivat osana metanogeenisten arkkien \nmetaboliaa ja toimivat osana metanogeneesiss\u00e4 t\u00e4rkeiden entsyymien kofaktoreita. \nT\u00e4ss\u00e4 ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 tutkittiin kahden lis\u00e4aineen (A1 ja A2) vaikutusta kolmen pelk\u00e4st\u00e4\u00e4n maissilla \nsy\u00f6tetyn t\u00e4yssekoitteisen puolijatkuvatoimisen t\u00e4yssekoitteisen reaktorin (CSTR) toimin-taan. Reaktoreita operoitiin 35\no\nC l\u00e4mp\u00f6tilassa 200 vuorokauden ajan. Ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin \nkolmea reaktoria, joista yhteen lis\u00e4ttiin lis\u00e4aine A1:t\u00e4, toiseen A2:ta ja kolmas toimi kont-rollireaktorina johon ei lis\u00e4tty lis\u00e4ainetta. Toinen k\u00e4ytetyist\u00e4 lis\u00e4aineista (A1) sis\u00e4lsi suola-happoa ja rautaa, kun toinen (A2) sis\u00e4lsi n\u00e4iden lis\u00e4ksi viitt\u00e4 eri hivenainetta. \nKokeessa reaktori, johon oli lis\u00e4tty A2:ta, toimi vakaammin kuin muut reaktorit. T\u00e4m\u00e4 \nn\u00e4kyi erityisesti alhaisempina haihtuvien rasvahappojen (VFA) pitoisuuksina koeajojen \naikana ja korkeampana metaanintuottona verrattuna muihin reaktoreihin. However, use of monosubstrate in anaerobic digestion can cause deficiency of \ntrace nutrients in the reactor. Deficiency of tracenutrients can affect the process especially \nin higher load. Trace nutrients are important for the process because they have essential \nrole in methanogens metabolic activity during methanogenesis and they are part of cofac-tors in enzymes involved in methanogenesis. \nIn this work three continuously stirred reactors (CSTRs) were fed with maize as the only \nsubstrate and the effect of two additive solutions (A1 and A2) on reactors performance \nwere evaluated. Reactors were operated in mesophilic (35 \no\nC) temperature for 200 days. \nOne of the reactors was fed with additive A1, one with additive A2 and the third was run \nas control reactor without additives. One of the additive solutions (A1) consisted from hy-drochloride acid and iron, whereas the other additive (A2) also included five trace metals. \nReactor that was implemented with additive A2 seemed to operate more stable than the \nother reactors. This was shown as lower volatile fatty acids (VFA) and higher methane \nyield compared to other reactors during a period where all reactors pH and the amounts of \nvolatile fatty acids increased.
