Lapsen osallistumista leikkiin voidaan arvioida luonnollisessa leikkitilanteessa, jolloin leikkijän, ympäristön ja leikin välinen dynaaminen vuorovaikutus voidaan huomioida. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin käsitteellisesti luonnollisen leikkitilanteen havainnoinnin välineitä Play assessment for group settings (PAGS), Test of Playfulness (ToP) ja Test of Environmental Supportiveness (TOES). Tarkoituksena oli kuvata arviointivälineitä sisällöllisesti selvittämällä, mille International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health- Children and Youth (ICF-CY) luokituksen osa-alueille ja luokkiin ne kohdentuvat. Toisaalta ICF-CY luokituksen kautta tarkasteltiin, millaisia eroja ja yhteneväisyyksiä arviointivälineistä löytyy. Tavoitteena oli näin auttaa asiantuntijoita tilanteisiinsa sopivan arviointivälineen valinnassa. PAGS ja ToP kohdentuivat pääosin osa-alueelle osallistuminen ja lisäksi ruumiin/kehon toimintojen pääluokkaan mielentoiminnot. TOES kohdentui ympäristötekijöihin. PAGS:n ja ToP:n välillä tuli esille arviointivälineen valinnan kannalta merkityksellisiä eroja. Conceptual Examination of Play Assessment Tools PAGS, ToP and TOES through ICF-CY Classification. It is important for a health professional to have knowledge to decide on proper assessment tool to reach the goal of play assessment procedure. Participation in play can be assessed in natural settings, where dynamic interaction between player, context and play itself can be taken in account. In this study three participation-level observational play assessment tools Play assessment for group settings (PAGS), Test of Playfulness (ToP) and Test of Environmental Supportiveness (TOES) were conceptually considered. The aim of this study was to describe them in terms of their content by considering to which of the parts and categories of The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health- Children and Youth version (ICF-CY they are directed to. On the other side, through the lens of ICF-CY it was examined what kind of similarities and differences can be found between these tools. The objective of this study was to help health professionals to choose an appropriate tool among participation –level play assessment tools. PAGS and ToP were directed primarily to Participation but also to Mental functions. TOES was directed to Environmental Factors.
