Tutkimuksen kohteena ovat perinteisesti\r\nolleet yliopisto-opiskelijat ja tutkimukset on toteutettu Yhdysvalloissa. Muilla koulutustasoilla\r\ntutkimusta oppimistyyleist\u00e4 ei ole juurikaan tehty.\r\nOppimistyyli on k\u00e4sitteen\u00e4 melko ep\u00e4selv\u00e4 ja se sekoitetaan usein kognitiivisiin tyyleihin ja\r\noppimisstrategioihin. Kaiken lis\u00e4ksi oppimistyylit on jaettu alalajeihin, joista aistihavaintoihin\r\nperustuvat tyylit ovat yksi osa. N\u00e4m\u00e4 ovat my\u00f6s t\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen kohde.\r\nTulevana opettajana etsin jatkuvasti uusia ja monipuolisia opettamistapoja, joilla voisin auttaa\r\noppilaitani oppimaan helpommin ja tehokkaammin. Tutkimukseni p\u00e4\u00e4tarkoitus oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4\r\noppilaiden mielipiteit\u00e4 englannin teht\u00e4vien ja heid\u00e4n oppimistyyliens\u00e4 yhteensopivuudesta sek\u00e4\r\ntarkastella, mik\u00e4 tukee heid\u00e4n oppimistaan ja mik\u00e4 taas est\u00e4\u00e4 sit\u00e4. Tutkimusta varten suunnittelin\r\nkaksiosaisen kyselyn yhdeks\u00e4sluokkalaisille oppilaille. Kysely tehtiin syksyll\u00e4 2009.\r\nTulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 useimmat oppilaat kaipaisivat huomattavasti lis\u00e4\u00e4 vaihtelua englannin\r\ntunnin teht\u00e4viin. Jokaisen oppimistyylin oppilaat kokivat, ettei heid\u00e4n oppimistyylej\u00e4\u00e4n huomioida\r\ntarpeeksi. Erityisesti taktuaaliset, k\u00e4sill\u00e4\u00e4n oppivat, oppilaat antoivat ehdotuksia englannin tunnin\r\nteht\u00e4vien monipuolistamiseksi. Yll\u00e4tt\u00e4en my\u00f6s auditiiviset oppilaat, joiden oppimistyyli vastaa\r\nparemmin perinteist\u00e4 oppimisk\u00e4sityst\u00e4, esittiv\u00e4t paljon parannusehdotuksia. Lis\u00e4ksi k\u00e4vi ilmi, ett\u00e4\r\ninternetin, television ja radion k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 englannin tunneilla on v\u00e4h\u00e4ist\u00e4, vaikka juuri ne\r\nmahdollistaisivat helposti useamman oppimistyylin aktivoinnin.
