Suullisen kielitaidon arviointi vaatii erityisesti aikaa sek\u00e4\r\nnopeaa reagointia opettajan puolelta, sill\u00e4 mik\u00e4li tilannetta ei nauhoiteta, voi opettaja arvioida\r\nvain yht\u00e4 suoritusta kerrallaan. Erityisen hankalaa suullisen kielitaidon arviointi on\r\nnormaalissa luokkahuonetilanteessa, jossa paikalla on useita oppilaita. T\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkimus\r\nkeskittyi tutkimaan suullisen kielitaidon arviointia englanninkielen oppitunneilla lukiotasolla.\r\nTutkimukseen k\u00e4ytettiin materiaalina nettikysely\u00e4 johon vastasi 32 lukion englanninkielen\r\nopettajaa eri puolelta Suomea. Kysely koostui monivalintakysymyksist\u00e4 sek\u00e4 kahdesta\r\navoimesta kysymyksest\u00e4. Kyselyss\u00e4 kartoitettiin opettajien mielipiteit\u00e4 suullisen kielitaidon\r\narvioinnista englanninkieless\u00e4 sek\u00e4 sit\u00e4, mihin opettajat eniten keskittyv\u00e4t arvioidessaan\r\nsuullista kielitaitoa.\r\nTutkimuksessa k\u00e4vi ilmi, ett\u00e4 suurin osa opettajista kokee suullisen kielitaidon arvioinnin\r\nhankalaksi l\u00e4hinn\u00e4 ajan puutteen aiheuttamien ongelmien takia. Vastauksista k\u00e4vi my\u00f6s ilmi,\r\nettei opettajilla ole yhten\u00e4ist\u00e4 ohjeistusta suullisen kielitaidon arvioinnista, sill\u00e4 vastaukset\r\nesimerkiksi siit\u00e4, kuinka usein opettajat sanoivat arvioivansa suullista kielitaitoa, vaihtelivat\r\npaljon. Eniten opettajat vastasivat keskittyv\u00e4ns\u00e4 arvioinnissa \u00e4\u00e4nt\u00e4miseen, sanastoon,\r\nsis\u00e4lt\u00f6\u00f6n ja keskustelutaitoihin. N\u00e4it\u00e4 on suhteellisen helppo arvioida lyhyist\u00e4kin\r\npuheenvuoroista (keskustelutaitoihin liittyi esim. aloitteellisuus).\r\nToivottavasti lis\u00e4tutkimuksen avulla pystytt\u00e4isiin kehittelem\u00e4\u00e4n keinoja, joilla\r\nyhten\u00e4istett\u00e4isiin ja helpotettaisiin suullisen kielitaidon arviointia englanninkieless\u00e4.
